"A veteran Democratic lawmaker believes the nation will go along with stronger gun control laws if President Obama exploits the Newtown, Conn., tragedy and nudges Congress to action.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler, who represents portions of New York City, said he was encouraged by Mr. Obamas statement on Friday afternoon that the mass shooting, which claimed the lives of 20 young children, requires meaningful action by Congress, but hopes those words turn into concrete legislation.".............

Unfortunately, they are in charge. They make the laws. They vote on the laws. They decide who has to follow the laws.
Fortunately at his core I suspect Barry lacks the cojones for such a confrontation.
Solving problems? What would be the point of that? Then they’d have to find something new to bitch and demagogue about. They make sure to find “solutions” that will perpetuate problems, not solve them.
If, by accident, they do solve something, they do their best to pretend that it’s still an ongoing problem. Stem cell research no longer requires the destruction of human embryos, so they pretend that the right is preventing stem cell research by opposing the destruction of human embryos. Segregation is a thing of the past, so they continue to call conservatives racists for opposing affirmative action. Polution is a mere fraction of what it was back in the day, so they invent global warming. Nothing ever gets solved if they can help it, even if it is already solved.
Nothing ever gets solved if they can help it, even if it is already solved.

Especially if the Fed is involved.
Just think if the ‘War on Crime’ ever ended.
All those rentacops that ‘watch’ the lobby of most high rises, the 2 or 3 people behind the desk, yet, mysteriously, stuff supposedly ‘walks’ out of buildings BUT the poor slob trying to work for a living goes through the ‘check points’ like ‘they’ are doing something, plus the cost of passes, card readers etc etc.
Remember IF AND WHEN a Govt Agency is disolved, it takes at least 1 Blue Ribbon Panel to shut it down, then a panel to shut the panel down etc etc
Like they have gotten now that when ‘they’ finally think they need a road to ease traffic, a committee with a large budget is formed so as to ‘study’ the feasibility of a highway widening that a grade school student could tell you needs to be done.
There is absolutely no such thing as ‘extra money’ as ‘they’ will spend it long before its life is up.
And civilian ownership of "non-sporting" firearms is a mortal threat to their deity, which is why they shamelessly exploit tragedies such as this one.
After we control guns, we can ban them.....than we can ban knives......than we can find a way to ban fists.....so a murderer goes on a rampage which means we must have national legislation anon! Nothing like exploiting a mass murder in Connecticut to burden people in Arizona.
You have a loner, who is into Goth which promotes death and torture among other very dark topics, a single parent, and more than likely on psychotropic drugs prescribed by a psychiatrist and there is your recipe for this disaster.
Go back and look at some of the school shooting in the past. The perpetrators were on prescription medicine.
Instead of banning guns we need to ban the over prescribing of drugs to our youth. Also if your going to be a parent accept the job of raising your children properly.
Sure. I have a friend who’s a dean in a large NYC high school. Every few years, he wrote once for the NY Sun, somebody wants to “reform” the system, and those ‘reforms’ get slapped on top of all the “reforms” from previous years, until it resembles a dried out Christmas tree with layer upon layer of tinsel, never thrown out, never revamped, just decorations slopped over decorations, year after year, and the tree itself is dead and lost beneath the pile of crap that lies on top of it.
Exactly. And they are always right in their own eyes since they find anything which expands government control over us wonderful and “for our own good”.
So True.
