The gunman in the Newtown massacre had an "altercation" with four staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School the day before he killed 20 children, six adults and himself there, Connecticut and federal officials told NBC News Saturday.
Three of the four staff members were killed Friday in one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history. The fourth staff member was not at school that day and is being interviewed by federal and state investigators, NBC News Pete Williams said.
Two days before that, Adam Lanza, 20, went to a sporting goods store in Danbury, Conn., and tried to purchase a rifle, but was rebuffed because the state has a waiting period for gun sales, the officials said.

Good question but I don’t know. I really only know a little about the condition. We know someone with an Asberger’s child. I have noticed that the numbers started growing around that time though. My son and his many friends over the years had no diagnoses of this condition, but a few of his friends and acquaintances have younger siblings with it. Anecdotal of course.
And you think that if we find out what caused the argument, that somehow, someday, we can educate people who are evil and crazy not to go out and kill children just because they get into some kind of argument like this?
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
I think I was pretty clear—as is the article I linked to.
I’ve looked at many of these ‘crying’ Obama pictures today and have not seen one...not one..where there are real tears! Everyone wants to know why mental illness is so rampant today....yet they elected a president that is a sociopath and he ‘hangs the moon’.
I am looking to book a vacation soon on sanity island before I lose my mind in this rotting society!
That isn’t my point.
All I was saying is that he went after the people with whom he had the argument.
If he was narcissistic and could not handle criticism maturely, and tended to fly into a rage when people disagreed with him, then that explains why he went after those four people.
Recall one survived; it is possible he got into it with them again Friday and then started shooting when they didn’t agree with him.
:)Turn off the TV and return to your regular program.
>> Yup, the “gun control laws” currently in effect WORKED
No law “worked”. Over 2 dozen dead despite “law”.
For the criminally insane, law is only good for prosecuting and sentencing, but not prevention.
>> About the time of the divorce
Of course this is not a factor. /s
Tried to turn it to the history channel for two nights now....programming about Ancient Aliens and Mayan apocalypse predictions. The whole world is insane....lol.
‘Ancient Aliens’ ????
I don’t care what his motive or excuse was. He was EVIL. That is all we need to know about him.
Don’t try to justify his actions by looking for reasons. There were none.
Or maybe he killed the tiniest babies at the school because he was such a coward and was afraid to face the older kids. They were the easiest to victimize.
Mom did not like the school IEP for her son and pulled him out. Maybe he blamed the school system for his troubles... or maybe he blamed the school for creating a situation that caused him to have to leave and spend all that time with mom.
Why so little contact with dad and brother? Perhaps mom wouldn’t accept everyone else’s view of her son and thought she knew better how to help him. These two may have been codependent and have isolated themselves while they spun into ruin.
Don’t know if it has spread beyond this place, but a small town north of the Metroplex in TEXAS, Harrold ISD, made the news in ‘08 for announcing that beginning that fall their teachers would be armed in the classroom. That’s what I get when I google the topic. And I had once heard about something like that but had never known the details. I would assume it’s a jurisdiction by jurisdiction decision as to whether teachers can bring guns to their classrooms, but that would have to comply with gun laws such as licensed to carry and training, etc. But the decision about teachers and schools would rest with the locals...
That's not Columbine. That's the movie "Zero Day".
where did anyone find that this was retailiation for an altercation ? I couldnt find it in the article, only that “there may have been an altercation the day before
Ancient Aliens ???? [/quote]
I am especially perturbed by what I call the "Mockumenteries" where they present a series of short skits of events in history followed by sarcastic cynical comments from MTV type youths expressing revisionist/socialist world views
although this seems like a total hijack, I do believe that this type of social engineering has corrupted the normal human thinking of youth and therefore it may be related to events like this horrendous massacre
Sure it does. It would establish what business (if any) he had with being involved in school business, for one.
We might learn that this is a potential triggering event for such violence in the future. That could be invaluable, wouldn't you say? What business did the murderer have talking with school personnel about what ever it was, anyway?
We need to start buying media outlets instead of giving our money to politicians and pacs. The only way to get this country back in the long run to get the leftists out of the media and our schools.
