Many single women, a key bloc, are avoiding GOP

DENVER (AP) — Sara Stevenson spends her working hours surrounded by Republicans, namely the married men who work alongside her in a Denver oil and gas firm company. But after hours and on weekends, she usually spends her time with other single women, and there's not a Republican in sight among the bunch.

"There was just no way I could have supported any Republican this year," said Stevenson, 31. "They skew so much to the religious right. ... They focused so much on taxes. It's not something that women in my demographic really care about. I've never heard my friends lament their taxes."

I have to ask, are these type of women really worth the effort? If they think like that I’d rather not even let them polish my doorknob.

I think it’s all part of the game plan for population reduction by the Feds:

Promote the gay lifestyle
Promote feminism
Promote birth control
Attack the institution of marriage

...using the MSM. Result - less children born; more resources available, less overcrowding, less payouts to entitlement programs, etc... Next to find a way to reduce the senior population which is less productive (pays much less taxes) and a drain on the federal programs; oh yeah, Obamacare is designed to do that; simply cut them off or restrict their care so that they will die years soon than expected.

Life without sex is better?

Only a woman could say that...trust me

I get your point though being disgusted by expectations.

have you thought about church?

my church has a large singles outreach here in Williamson county TN and plenty of single folks who seem to interract well and share values

not sure all are virgins but I’m fairly sure the sex doesn’t happen without commitments at least

I feel for ya hon...it’s a vexing time for folks with morals living outside a decent marriage

This shouldn’t even be a problem for the GOP. Just dump the social issues, stop talking about God, and make contraceptives easier to get! /s

Oh, wait, they’re talking about doing just that.....

The most interesting thing to these women is the sound of their own voice. That’s the only thing they want to hear.

I hate to say this - not trying to be offensive, but if they were sitting on fence as whether to vote for or against Obama, then they probably were not the brightest in the world to begin with.

That’s correct. I love taking care of my husband, and that includes cooking good dinners for him. When he was a bachelor and on his own, he would do anything quick and easy for dinner....why wouldn’t I want better for him if I love him?

Selfish witches. I wonder if they know what love is.

“They skew so much to the religious right. ...”

Too many want to legislate morals not teach morals which seems to violate Matthew 28:19 which never mentions legislation. What we are seeing today is that the left and the right have met at that place on the circle where you can’t tell them apart. The one that doesn’t have a problem prevaricating is winning. Those that want to legislate morals are scaring many that otherwise believe and want to be led to the right path but fear that they can’t trust the religious right. It would help if many acted like Christians instead of Crusaders with a sword ready to burn unbelievers at the stake. Compassion seems to be the word that is often missing. Are we also sure that our religious leaders are in it for anything but the 1000+ suits I see on many who look a lot like Boner. Some seem think that these religious leaders shouldn’t be criticized just like the left says that we can’t criticize the O. Sainthood comes early for many...would be my headline.

THE BIG PROBLEM FOR THIS COUNTRY IMHO is that neither side believes in the Constitution. Only their way is the truth and light, but maybe it’s not Gods way? The only thing that he’s ever said to me is between me and him.

These are girls who grew up watching “Sex in the City” and thought that it was such a cool lifestyle. They’ll wake up in their late 30s or early 40s lonely and all bitter about the families they don’t have. But, hey, they’ll have a CAREER and Obamacare.

The media has smeared the GOP as being just of white males who are racists and hate women. This is why the media knocked out Palin, Bachman, Cain etc. We play right into their hands by running another white male.

Let me make it clear to any white male thinking of running for president: you cannot win so don't even run( that's a note to you jeb Bush, Chris christie etc.). Only chance we have is to run a woman, or minority to break the media matrix. Sarah palin could have and still can you hear me Palin? Susana Martinez, Niki Haley, etc. only chance.

"I feel for ya hon...it’s a vexing time for folks with morals living outside a decent marriage"

I remember reading my Bible and it had to do with single women and widows abstaining.

These "new men" out there are liars and manipulators. They will try anything to get you into bed....let alone, after a first date, all of a sudden "develope" an additional 6 arms and hands in which they try and put all over you (my response was of course "violent")!

Unfortunately, it is now the "norm" to have sex, even on the 1st date.

No thanks.

"Life without sex is better?

Only a woman could say that...trust me

Oh, I believe you 100% on that note. He created us that way.

Feminism has always been about collectivism/socialism. Betty Friedan, the mother of the so called women’s “liberation” movement, was a child of what Michael Savage calls “red diaper doper babies” i.e., liberal Marxists. They encourage women to see themselves as victims who need to be “rescued” by an ever expanding government. That’s why both Phyllis Schlafly and Ayn Rand were so critical of it.

What does that even mean? Does she know what that even means? She's never heard her friends talking about taxes so it isn't an important issue and doesn't have huge implications for the economy because her buddies don't "lament their taxes"? Beyond absurd - scary someone this ignorant is voting...and apparently people like this are now the majority.

You have the 75% about right I think. However Mitt Romney was the killer.

I agree with you but with a small difference. Mitt was the killer, not because he was a Mormon, but because he was a moderate. He was afraid of offending anyone. Look at it this way, when was Mitt riding highest? Right after the first debate, when Hussein was shown up as the arrogant empty vessel that he is. After that it was downhill. The 0bama media and sycophants went to work in every state (not just swing) and negatively campaigned. Even here in the people's republic of CT, I was seeing 0bama ads. Not one for Mitt. Nothing from Mitt articulating free market, supply side pro growth positions. Not even a strong condemnation on 0bamacare. The GOP should have been introducing bills attacking specific pieces of 0bamacare legislation throughout the campaign(i.e. taxes on wheelchairs, tax on stock transfers etc). Make the dems in congress defend this crap, and the MSM will have to cover it, followed by a strong statement by Mitt that he would REPEAL this (not replace, but start from scratch)

Anyway, that's how I would have handled it. He may have still gone down, but go down swinging at least. That 3rd debate ("I agree with the president on that....") was a mockery.

If they did, you would have had to live in a swing state to see them.

You can fault Romney for not having been aggressive enough, but he wasn't going to put more money into a state he was sure to lose than he absolutely had to when the election would be decided elsewhere.

"When being a wife and a mother become something to sneer at, we truly are doomed as a society."

As a single woman, never married, no kids, I have great respect for married moms with children.

I don't know how they do it. It is one of the most HARDEST jobs there is, but yet the ones I know seem to take such joy from it.

Maybe so but there are a lot of women, especially in the liberal states, who get their news from television or the local newspaper. They’re working hard and don’t get on the internet to get a different perspective. Akin makes his comment and the liberal media start spinning it. If that’s your only source of information and you hear it repeated ad nauseum you believe it. Well, maybe not *you* but many do.

I think you have a point here, problem is we need only look at Europe for the endgame here. Somebody still has to fund the welfare state, and before long we'll be overrun with Mohamedans as a result because hey, they work hard and have lots of kids. I don't want to be around to see that.
