The Connecticut school shooting that left 27 people dead including as many as 20 children has prompted Hollywood celebrities to demand stricter gun control because they believe it will prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
Too soon to speak out about a gun-crazy nation? No, too late, far-left filmmaker Michael Moore tweeted. At least THIRTY-ONE school shootings since Columbine.
The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy, he added.
Screenwriter Kevin Williamson agreed. We need gun control. Stop defending your right to bear arms. Youre stupid, he tweeted.
Pop singer Michelle Branch tweeted: Gun control people!!! My heart is breaking. As a parent this is my worst nightmare.
Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones said that gun control is our only road to freedom via her official Twitter account.
Freedom from the fear of senselessly losing children. Im so saddened. WE NEED LAWS NOW, she added.
CNN host Piers Morgan wondered aloud on Twitter whether President Barack Obama would have the courage to stand up to the American gun lobby. He also tweeted the hashtag #guncontrol.

THIS JUST IN FROM FOREIGN PRESS: While the US media cry about gun control, the foreign media point out that an innocent man Ryan Lanza, his face all over the net and on TV, was accused by the US media (and its faithful followers, many of them here) of being a mass murderer!
We need laws now? Like making it illegal to go into a school and murder people? Oh, wait.....
WAR IS PEACE FREEDOM IS SLAVERY IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
The Hollyweirdos really bring the classics to life, don’t they?
Especially Mikey Moore.
When I’ve encountered libs who say only the government should have guns I tell them “the Nazis were a government. They banded gun ownership, look how that worked out’’.
All this from people that would not go any where with out an armed body guard.
It **IS** the same Kevin Williamson. . .

Yeah, that worked well in Nazi Germany, didn't it?
Obviously we need to ban the public school system.
Universal gun-training in the 8th grade would be more like it...
“character actor” is Hollywood for ugly...
Every teacher should be trained and equipped to protect their students.
says the people who live with multiple armed bodyguards and super-secure houses.
the women’s comments show why you don’t base laws on emotions.
I'm in China... it's amazing how many thing you got WRONG in that one short sentence...
There were 22 (not 20) children INJURED (not killed) IN China, (not near)....
That story will only strenthen then gun nuts argument... without guns around, those 22 kids will live... with scars.. but, live.
Why not just make murder illegal, too, while they’re at it.
And all celebrities have armed body guards to protect thier sorry a##es from the cretans that walk amongst us, HYPOCRITICAL A##WIPES
I’m going to the Capitol City Gun Show at the NC State Fairgrounds today near Raleigh.
I’d been toying with the idea, not sure if I’d go, but now I see I have no choice. Liberal clap-trap has me worried once more that they may move to restrict or prevent my access to firearms. So I’ll buy another 1,000 rounds of .223, 9mm luger, and few more 1,000s of .22LR. Need a couple more magazines for my AR15 while I’m at it.
Chinese officials have guns too. They use them to execute dissidents for organ harvesting.
That’s what I was thinking yesterday as my class and I were discussing the event.
It’s exam time at our school, and some students are bearing the bitter fruit of their dismal efforts. But in today’s thinking, their failure is MY fault. What’s to stop one of my students from going “Call of Duty” on me? My thought (to self) was, “Why aren’t I allowed to come to school with a sidearm visibly strapped to my belt?
Then I came to my senses and began to explain to the class our school’s “Active Shooter” procedures for ensuring their safety...the one where, when notified via loudspeaker, I lock the door, turn out the light, and we all huddle in the corner and pretend ‘No one’s home’!...
Yeah, I know...my students laughed, too.
