There have been a lot of factual errors in the chaotic rush to get details about todays shooting in Connecticut. But one fact that seemed established across the board was that victim Nancy Lanza, the mother of alleged shooter Adam Lanza, was a teacher at the Sandy Hook Elementary School specifically that it was her class that Adam Lanza massacred.
But this story just out in the Journal suggests thats not true.
Oddly, its buried down at the bottom of the story, almost as an afterthought
A former school board official in Newtown called into question earlier reports that Nancy Lanza had been connected to Sandy Hook Elementary School, possibly as part of the teaching staff.
No one has heard of her, said Lillian Bittman, who served on the local school board until 2011. Teachers dont know her.

The only true thing we know is that children and school staff were shot and killed today. Everyting else seems to be made up, scripted and orchestrated. I am not sure what to believe
that i could see, he never attended that school. i’ve seen interviews with kids in middle school with him. he attended Newtown High and one said he graduated 3 years early he was so intelligent.
imho, he wasn’t autistic, but the borderline personality disorder may fit. i can’t imagine a high-functioning autistic methodically plan a violent attack, shoot his mother, then drive to a school which appears to have no connection and kill 26 people. borderline personality disorder and the meds, it could be. of course the articles are interviewing people who really may or may not have seen the real side of the family and i have been reading contradictory info about the behavior of Adam. Normal, shy, well behaved, strange, smart, didn’t speak.....
me too, but she aggravated me long before that too. It’s like she’s on speed or something.
If one of my kids forgets a lunch and I bring it over to the school, they just buzz me in. They don’t know me, but I have a nice face.
The media screwed that one up, too. The father lives in Connecticut. According to The Danbury CT News Times, he came home to find a reporter staked out in his driveway. He politely asked “May I help you”, and then turned pale as a ghost when he was told that his address was connected to the massacre (Police were there earlier in the day).
What I want to know is, how did he get buzzed in when he had a “combat vest” on?
(and where did he get that part of the gear?)
Before I turned 21, I always carried my older brother’s ID. That part’s not too weird.
Creepy eyes!!!!!!
She was a class room aide
Do they ask who you are? Or proof that your a parent of one of the kids in the school?
Respectfully offered; my experience with Connecticut schools has been that buildings remain the same, but the grade configurations change. The elementary school in 1965 became the Alternative High School, a decade later. The 7th and 8th Grade Jr. High in the 70’s became the 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Middle School in the 90’s, and reverted back to 7th and 8th Grade School, in the current era. It may be possible that the shooter attended class in this building, but not as a K-4 School. Thanks.
You take your older brother's birth certificate to the DMV and replace the "lost" license.
Early thread here at FR had older brothers Facebook page link.
It showed two states for him.
Maybe he was home for Christmas break and that’s how the younger brother got the ID.
No, there's an intercom and they buzz and say "Come on in."
I make a quick left into the office and give them the lunch with my kid's name on it and leave.
Probably happens ten times a day in the school. But I expect the procedure will be changed by tomorrow morning.
Too much bad info floating around though.
yeah I think that policy will change..it should..as sweet of a face that you have(And I dont doubt you have a nice face) unless the school knows who you are and that your a parent of a child attending that school they shouldn’t be buzzing you in because even though 99.9 percent of the time its fine you just never know
Sorry for the goof on the “buzzed in”.
But still wonder where he got the combat vest.
The principal(May she rest in peace) recently got security cameras installed outside the school..this guy had to be buzzed in in order to get inside.

Then why did they report on the news Friday night that the glass of the front door had been busted inward? ...Doesn’t sound like anyone buzzed him him. Seems more like he kicked or shot the glass of the door and walked in...
It could have been set up between them. Either a school ID that wasn’t needed, or License that was reported lost.
I caught my youngest daughter carrying her sisters “lost” license.
I took it away and read them the riot act. But they are older now, so it doesn’t matter.
But since the drinking age went back to 21 kids on the margin will always look for the edge.
