President Barack Obama, in a brief address to the nation, offered his condolences to those who lost loved ones in the elementary school shootings in Newtown, Conn., and said it is time to act to prevent similar tragedies.
"As a country we have been through this too many times," he said, ticking off recent shootings across the nation. "These neighborhoods are our neghborhoods, and these children are our children, and we're going to have to come together …to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics."

I was just waiting for the hidden call for the ban on AR platform rifles. We will have to put aside politics and get that done, of course.

Arguably, I have all of the firearms I could ever need, but I have been putting off buying a shotgun. Perhaps I need to quickly get off the dime on that purchase. A Remington 870 12 ga Police Magnum seems like a good squirrel gun for my needs.

My thoughts exactly. Between this and Aurora, he now has “ammunition” to try to enforce more strict gun control... Which does nothing to keep crooks and people who are nutters away from guns.

OK....I expect the President of the United States to make some sort of statement of condolence. But this is really over-the-top.
Exactly right. I have had long term dealings with a couple of sociopaths in my life and for some reason was able to detect their behavior right away (though I only learned the clinical terms for their behavior later). I've always been very good at reading eyes, faces and micro-expressions, so maybe that has something to do with it.
But, yes he is a clear-cut sociopath and as you can see here, fools people quite easily.
He’s set race relations back 100 years. He’s the reason why people are so angry about every little thing.

And so have all the Repubs who run as prolife and proceed to do NOTHING... and so have the RINOs that have thrown principled, prolifers like Aken and Mourdock under the bus... the enemy has been US...
For Benghazi he issues a ridiculous 'Youtube video did it' story.
For abortion he lamely says "that's above my pay grade."
Honesty and genuine human feeling is what's above his pay grade.
Meanwhile domestic agencies are being armed to the teeth. Millions of rounds of ammunition have been purchased, rounds barred to the military. Domestic agencies can only be for US - We The People. We are the target of that ammunition.
The victims are still on the ground and the demons are readying to advance their agenda of our disarmament.
Do not be stampeded by those who exploit this terrible crime.

Rx's for psychotropic meds for children increased 800% from 1990 to 2000. I don't know where it's gone from there but I would bet it has remained high or increased dramatically from 2000 on.

I don’t care if he did feel emotion. If you really care about the grief the parents are feeling you hold your emotions in check as not to draw sympathy or attention for yourself. I already heard Ann Compton all breathless about Obama and how he was so “human” and emotionally devastated since he was “a parent”. I swear...this White House must have a full time psychologist on staff giving minute to minute direction on how to manipulate gullible people.
He would then see killings on a scale that would pale anything else. People won’t put up with that, and he knows it.
Yes. And I am sure that we can use the schools that the President's children attend as models of what we need.
They are not HIS children like Saint Skittles, the Trayvon. They are “our” childen - whities. I wish he would not try to exploit these families but he will do it.
It’s a crime to try and use this tragedy, committed by a wacko teacher’s son, to strip Americans of their right to self defence. More people will be murdered by Obama sons predators who are free to prey upon Americans and encouraged to murder and attack whites in packs of animals by limo fascists like Jamie Foxx.
