Some physicists and university researchers say it's possible to test the theory that our entire universe exists inside a computer simulation, like in the 1999 film "The Matrix."
In 2003, University of Oxford philosophy professor Nick Bostrom published a paper, "The Simulation Argument," which argued that, "we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation." Now, a team at Cornell University says it has come up with a viable method for testing whether we're all just a series of numbers in some ancient civilization's computer game.
Researchers at the University of Washington agree with the testing method, saying it can be done. A similar proposal was put forth by German physicists in November.

If we are nothing but material, how are we conscious?
Jesus implied in many places that this current world is not the "true" reality.
Even the very nature of "particles" (nothing is really solid, only energy fields) seems to suggests that there is something "more real" than this present world - in the next there will be "....no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying - there shall be no more pain because the former things have passed away."
Revelation 21:4
An existence outside the box of time and space - where the sun is replaced by the light of Jesus' face.
Dee Cees pocketbook is always Open to puny men that want to take a stab at Almighty God. That’s all this is. humanism at work.
hhahahhhhaaa
I absolutely love it!!!
I WILL use that in the very next fight I get into on FR. LOL
I personally think your statement is correct. We only perceive our existence and our perceptions are not real. They are merely a projection (read: simulation) of the ego mind. They don't exist in reality. What then is reality you may ask? The ego mind cannot understand the answer so don't ask the question.
Isn’t it great? :)
While it will have to be in my own voice, I think I am going to record that to my voicemail greeting.
I love it and I have no doubt that I will overuse it!!
That was probably the attitude of people when Columbus set sail for the New World.
Its virtually stunning that you could draw that comparison.
Why? People back then thought Columbus would fall off the edge of the world and thought his trip was nonsense. Many thought Einstein’s theory of relativity was nonsense.

Agent Smith must have excised humor from your program.
Anyone who feels intelligent design is not scientific can look right here. These people have a theory which requires intelligent action on the universe, and are testing the theory. This is good science and intelligent design.
Nah, the Earth is nothing but an electron in a big atom of the big dude!
It’s impossible to overuse that. :)
“It would mean we don’t really exist.”
IF we don’t exist then there is no such thing as love.
What a crock.
IF we’re all characters in this grand simulation then WHERE are our royalty checks?
LOL. I've though about that. An atom is like a small universe. What if the universe is a small atom? An atom of what? LOL.
I think you’re crazy, but a fun crazy. This conversation is crazy, but it is a fun conversation and good for ones imagination.
However, I don’t want my tax dollars spent on this type of research. I believe that there is only one way for man to actually look into the eyes of God, first you have to die.
Having said that, I would have never been a part of the “flat earth” crowd.
If Obama had a son, he would look just like..... Pac-Man.
