We had a recent, horrendous home invasion (Petits in Cheshire CT) where the perps got the death penalty and soon after that, the assembly decided to get rid of the death penalty after that high profile case.
Especially in cases where the perps are identified on scene, and there’s no doubt whatsoever who did the deed, I believe arrests, trials, and execution should take place in short order. Certainly by the end of the second year, the perps should be out of our misery. If a good process were outlined, I could easily see reducing that time significantly too.
