State police are responding to a report of a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dickinson Drive, school officials said.
Police are reporting a number of injured parties. The nature of their injuries is not clear.

Most schools have at least one cop on site now days, not necessarily to prevent something like this but more as kind of a prison guard that makes sure the prisoners ... err students don’t get out of line. I expect after this that they will indeed have armed police in most schools and maybe even metal detectors like they have in most urban schools now days.

Just checked out his facebook page. Not much on it. Says he lives in NJ but is from Newtown CT .. so theirs the connection. He probably went to school their as a kid. Some people will go crazy as he has a 2 min video of him on his FB page playing Grand Theft Auto and crashing cars for a couple of min. Nothing out of the ordinary though on there.
Weird the national CBS has more up-to-date info than my local CBS affiliate (in Connecticut).

20 something year old guy with four weapons, two pistols one rifle dunno what the other one was, bulletproof vest, goes into a school, shoots the principal, a passle of children, and then ends up dead.

Yet another reason to home school. How is it we willingly send our kids to places that need armed guards?
What has changed so much in the last 50 years? Something sure has. While there has never been a perfect time. The idea of armed guards at school?
Where do the anti-gunners find all these volunteers who will die for the cause?
I guess the same place arabs find vest bombers.

They are reporting he killed his father in NJ, and his mother, a teacher at the school in Newtown.
