State police are responding to a report of a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dickinson Drive, school officials said.
Police are reporting a number of injured parties. The nature of their injuries is not clear.

Yes, seems like every day I read about some African American going to an elementary school and killing 20 kids, aged six years old. And Obama never sheds a tear...Whoops, wait a second! Actually, I can’t remember the last time this happened. What are you talking about?

The more this story sinks in the more it just breaks my heart. The world can be so beautiful but sometimes wicked is the only way to describe some people or actions in it, and I know it sounds like a cliche but the one thing I pray for the most in my daily prayers is peace within people’s hearts and with each other.
People are always straw-manning, comparing apples and oranges. I’ve already laid out typical ethnicity of various crimes but again, blacks usually commit singular targeted murders, often 2nd degree, but hardly ever single mass killings. If so it’s incidental.
They don’t want to give any quarter to the half-black pres mostly because he’s socialist. I don’t like him either but expecting him to cry over every singular reckless murder by Chicago blacks is kind of silly.
Right now I’m irritated that Uhbama ordered flags at half staff. I am sick & tired of every incident causing flags to go down. How weak. Why not just keep our flags half staff forever?

As for the mother, the first media reports I heard was that the killer went to his mother’s classroom there at the school, making it sound that he killed her along with the children. Then they reported that the mother was killed in her home, so I wondered if there was a substitute in his mother’s class. Last I heard was that the mother was possibly just a substitute teacher and that she may not have had any connection to the school at all. Does anyone know the latest?

Mother was killed by Lanza in the home they shared-—prior to him driving to the school.
Mother’s connection to school is still not known to a certainty. She may have been a teacher’s aide or a substitute teacher, but if so, it is odd that no fact has been established. Also heard that she worked there in the past.

Of course not. But please note that nobody sold a firearm to this shooter. Had a gun not been available, there are plenty of other highly effective ways to kill people, particularly if you are willing to die with them.
The sad, almost incomprehensible, truth here is that awful things happen at the hands of evil people, and there’s very little we can do to stop a determined perp.
The underlying cause isn’t access to guns, or knives, or explosives, or cans of gasoline. It’s evil intent.
But our citizenry isn’t capable of discussing evil or recognizing it. We are living in an anything-goes world, where everyone has an excuse and “God-just-wants-me-to-be-happy.”
Only He doesn’t want you to be happy. He wants you to be obedient and penitent and respectable and responsible and loving toward your fellow man.
And that’s not where we are a society. Rather, we blink at evil and thus breed it.
