Embattled U.N. envoy Susan Rice is dropping out of the running to be the next secretary of state after months of criticism over her Benghazi comments, she told NBC News on Thursday.

Being called on your bald-faced lies to the American people is “partisanship”? lolz
BS.....she dropped out because more of her shady past was becoming known. She’s headed for greener and quieter pastures. Probably more money too, it’s amazing how quiet people become around Odungo, your stimulus money at work.
besides, she walked like a lumberjack
Her investments in oil sands doomed her. I doubt she was first choice. Then Hagel to defense is a big “up yours” to McCain. Kerry was always first choice. Only question is will Patrick appoint himself? I doubt Brown could beat him in MA. This is not a win, Rice will end up as National Security Advisor which does not require confirmation. All this did was give us both Kerry, Rice, and maybe Patrick.
I really wish we would see the whole field instead of myopic petty battles. This makes Obama look bi-partisan and he gets what he wants anyway. Once again Obama plays the media and the republicans.
I will give him credit he is getting very good at this.
Anyone with two brain cells knows why she doesn’t want the job..she doesn’t want to have to answer questions about what she knows about what happened in Benghazi, and we all know she has the answers..she knows what happened and refuses to answer..boo hoo the leftist media is saying how a “woman of color” gets screwed out of a position, really..you mean like Mia Love, who was screwed over because she is a Conservative African American woman..I didnt hear anyone in the media mention the death threats, the constant calling of the N word that Mia Love had to deal with, but poor poor Susan Rice, who went on National TV and made a fool of herself over and over and over again..yeah she’s the victim
Brian Williams would never cry for George H W Bush, only for Jimmy Carter, his hero
Yes Susan. We, too, are saddened by partisan politicians who lie to the American people about murdered diplomats.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
What big-monied liberal arts college is looking for a president and some ginormous government research grants?
She was just following Obama’s orders; she was his fall person. He’s still President! The American people reelected him after! Regardless, I’m glad she’s not going to be Secretary of State. Unfortunately, I think we’re going to get John Kerry.
She does not want to answer any questions under oath about
Bengazi. That simple.
It’s going to be tough finding another idiot to take her place, but I have faith in Obama.
If she wants to learn about partisan politics she should go have a talk with Robert Bork.
If she wants to learn about partisan politics she should go have a talk with Robert Bork.
all things considered, Kerry is perferable to Rice.
This was a mark against Obama. Remember how he puffed out his chest at that press conference and told McCain and Graham to come after him, how much of a tough guy he acted like?
2 weeks later he folded his cards and walked away.
Rice didn’t withdraw just because she felt like it. Either Obama decided not nominate her or didn’t feel like fighting for her confirmation. Whenever anyone comes close to threatening Obama or his position, he tosses them overboard.
In the end, he caved.
The GOP should take a lesson from this for the fiscal cliff. In the end, Obama will cave if they press him hard enough.
I hear that he served in the Navy or something. He doesnt talk about it much.
so nominating a failed Presidential candidate who is on video trashing the US military is a win for Obama?
This is political loss for him, although not a big one or anything.
Liberals and dems wil remember how tough Obama can be when he wants to. How he went after Romney, how he went after Hillary in the primary, how he’s stood up for Holder, etc...
And yet when it comes to Rice he just walks away. I think it makes him look weak for the moment.
And Kerry is a loser, he gives Obama nothing.
how does Obama look bipartisan nominating a hardcore liberal for Sec State?
And that lib Republian Collins says she’ll support him.
