Mother Jones calls her Professor Occupy. She was the brains behind the violent 1999 World Trade Organization protests in Seattle.
Now, Lisa Fithian a self-described anarchist has brought her tactics to Michigan, where the unions are prepping for a massive demonstration Tuesday as the legislature gives final passage to Right to Work legislation.
EAGnews exposed Fithian when she popped up in Chicago last year to organize the Chicago Teachers Union during the height of the silly but dangerous Occupy protests.
But strangely, the Associated Press didnt mention Fithians track record in a story it published on Sunday. In fact, despite being an avowed anarchist, the AP simply referred to Fithian as a community activist. And the story led readers to believe the protesters may be the victims.
More than 200 activists attended training Saturday in preparation for a protest at the Michigan Capitol, where lawmakers are putting the final touches on legislation that would allow workers to stop paying union dues.
Between chants, cheers and applause, organizers warned those at the training to be prepared for insults and obstruction Tuesday in Lansing. The volunteers lined up on opposite sides of a long hall at UAW Local 600 in suburban Detroit and took turn turns portraying protesters and union critics.
Humanize the situation. Be clear with your intentions. Introduce yourself, national labor activist Lisa Fithian, of Austin, Texas, said through a megaphone. They're going to do everything they can to criminalize us.
We are not the violent ones, Fithian is quoted as saying.
Really?
During the 1999 WTO protests in Seattle, damage to businesses from vandalism cost an estimated $20 million. That was Fithians handiwork.
Fithian is a very dangerous person to be bringing to Michigan at the moment. Someone with her track record and skills could take a tense situation and quickly turn it into a riot.
People of good will are left to hope that nobody gets seriously hurt, all because some rabble-rousing anarchist comes to town and throws gasoline on a smouldering fire.
Fithian may consider violence a necessary tool in her effort to perpetuate a world revolution, but the people of Michigan deserve much better.
I thought Dems were in favor of pro-choice?
They’re only pro-THEIR-choices. Those who disagree can meet ugly ends, and it won’t offend their morality one tiny bit.
«Anarchists» and commies - no surprise there
as we used to say in high school —
She’s fugly.
I remember reading about an incident in GWB’s first term when he visited Oregon (Portland, probably) and violent protestors surrounded the building where he was—maybe the same group. It almost got beyond the point where the Secret Service could handle the situation.
In other words, a genuine Domestic Terrorist.
I think the security of free speach ends where the violence begins. The first shop owner that has his windows smashed or the first innocent bystander hit with a rock... should return the favor - violently.
If someone defines themself as an anarchist, teaches others how to create chaos and violence... they’re eagerly seeking to learn the difference between protestor and criminal. Or, perhaps domestic terrorist.
Apparently the 8 protesters they arrested last week have been charged with felony resisting arrest and interfering with officers.
I think Max Tucker of “I hope they serve beer in hell” would be a good retort to Alinskies who know only how to “campaing”/protest with her uterus and has no other skill.
Obama and his sloppy seconds is all they are.
Being reported on twitter that democrat legislator Douglas Geiss is on the house floor saying “there will be blood”
I thinks that’s a picture of Tom Cruise.
There’s something strange about an “anarchist” who advocates forced membership in an organization.
Militant union members like these are the ultimate liberals:
- They want the government to take away freedom of choice for people who hold different views than they do.
- They want the government to force everyone to follow their wishes, support their causes, belong to their organization.
- Then, they want the government to force others to pay for it, even though they don’t believe in it and don’t want it.
That was my thought as well. How does an anarchist end up supporting much less publicly organizing for any institution? Another case of “Let me label myself”, without any reference to history or language... which I guess does make her an anarchist, of sorts. One of these days this crowd’s going to have a movement and they’ll be surprised to find the rest of the country brought toilet paper.
Union thugs need training from anarchists to be thugs?
Whose blood? BLood? As if the blood of one is lesser than the blood of the other? That is the liberal socialist racist for you, looking for social welfare sympathy.
They are coming in to kill while screaming for sympathy, the typical feminist “domestic violence” call.
The socialists are counting on sympathy as usual while back stabbing their helpers. It always was their MO. Socialism is campaigning by any means. Obviously true workers cannot stand them. They are trying to kill the worker/gun “social culture” so as to impose their subterfuge. Hate and racism promote preferential dictatorship.
It’s a discourse in making the abused question himself or herself in retaliation. It is vicious people like these we finance.
The answer to that is: what have you guys got other than your socialism and your spiteful selves? Nothing. The cause in only for themselves.
I hate to say, but like in a gun fight, make sure the perp does not get back up for sympathy tears in court.
