The Salvation Army is under increasing attack from homosexual activists this Christmas season. The Christian organization is under fire for merely holding Christian beliefs on marriage and the family—it does not discriminate against anyone—and now the war has extended to a formal resolution by the Associated Students of the University of California at Berkeley calling for a ban of Salvation Army donation boxes on campus; university officials are considering the request.
An organized effort to boycott the Salvation Army is also under way. A gay website, watermarkonline.com, is asking its readers nationwide not to give to the charitable organization. Gays in Chicago have launched their own campaign to withhold donations. The net result is that more of the needy will go without this Christmas season, thanks to the efforts of these homosexuals.
Not only does the Salvation Army not discriminate in hiring, and in whom they serve, it does not lobby for any cause. Indeed, its only agenda is serving the dispossessed. Yet to those driven by a lust for power in the homosexual community, it makes sense to sacrifice the poor for the purpose of advancing their agenda.
It is too kind to say this is another example of political correctness: It is nothing less than an attempt to punish thought. This, of course, is one of the ugliest traits of the totalitarian mindset. That its intellectual home is the University of California, Berkeley, should surprise no one.
Please give to the Salvation Army this Christmas. Let them know we support their charitable goals, as well as their courage in standing up to bullies.

Four years of obama has been a gift of sorts for me. I've not had such an interest or motivation for biblical study before obama and I'm amazed by how much more vivid and pertinent it has become thanks to life in the obamanation.

I can vouch for your father being right about the Salvation Army and the Red Cross. After the Battle of Guam, where almost 8,000 Americans were killed or wounded my uncle came ashore with the US Navy. The Red Cross was already there, SELLING donuts to GIs. He never had any use for the Red Cross. He always said the Salvation Army was the best charity in the world. The Red Cross did great things after Katrina also.
Meant to say the Salvation Army did great things after Katrina. The Red Cross ripped being people off.
Gays are doing humanity a service here...by helping to clarify the battle lines between good and evil.

When you hate yourself, you pretty much hate everyone else too. What else can you expect from them?
You’ve spoken it exactly as it is . . (nasty, hairy butt sex). Those of us who try to follow scripture as best as we can find no approval of this practice in scripture, in the laws of God, old or new testament. These nasty people try to ram this nasty practice down our throats; but they know what it is and why we can’t approve. Even if it were “just a matter of opinion”, the simple logistics of the nastiness of the practice would be anathema to most of us. - I’m not stopping them from doing what they do; they are filthy and I’m to the point where they can just be filthy unhampered. -
My husband also speaks highly of the S.A. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton when his mother died. He was broke and asked the Red X to help him get home. They refused so he asked the S.A. They paid his way home and back. We always donate to them.
Let me list them here:
Sure it's a "religious" organization, but they just simply help people.
Michael Medved, a Jew, even has a red kettle on his website for donations. And Ray Kroc's (McDonalds owner) wife (Jewish)left a very hefty sum in her will to the SA.
They know it will literally do good in this world.
BTW, it happens every year, but there is some good samaritan who drops a $100 bill that wraps a gold bullion bar into a kettle, anonymously.
If I had the means, I'd love to do the same.
It gets harder by the year for us to give much to all the places that need it.
I already sent in a 250.00 donation next is the BSA
