IDF Special Forces are operating inside Syria to track chemical weapons, the London Sunday Times reported. The Israeli government has not commented on the report.
The report from London comes hours after Syrian opposition forces released a video showing that Syrian President Bashar Assad has used chemical weapons in the commercial center of Aleppo.
The newspaper stated that the IDF operations across the border are part of new secret operations to locate non-conventional weapons and to sabotage them to prevent their use.

I’ve been away from all news media and internet for one day and wow. Just read three articles from Debka and the situation sounds critical:
1. What comes first a Syrian chemical attack or a US-led military showdown? US, Israeli, Jordanian and Turkish special forces are on the ground in Syria, armed with special gear for combating chemical arms. They are close enough to count the convoys carrying poison gas weapons, augmented by US military surveillance satellites and drones able to pinpoint their position at any moment.
2. Assads last warning to rebels before using chemical weapons. West, Israel on high preparedness.....The danger that Syrian ruler Bashar Assad will now resort to chemical warfare shot up Saturday afternoon, Dec. 8, after the rebels captured the chloride factory at Al Safira east of Aleppo. This is a code name for the Syrian armys biggest chemical weapons store and base, which also houses Syrian Scud D missiles armed with chemical warheads adjusted to fire at Israel.
3. Assads troops, more chemical arms move northwest, Iranian arms airlift rerouted to Palmyra........ US, Turkish, British, Jordanian and French forces are standing ready around Syrian borders for the order to go forward still to come from US President Barack Obama. Syrian President Bashar Assad is regrouping his army in defense array in strategic parts of Damascus, while planting mines and bomb traps in abandoned bases. Convoys carrying missiles, shells and canisters armed with chemical and biological weapons continue to ply roads to the north, while the airlift of Iranian arms is rerouted to northern air bases.
I guess they have to do something with all of the ones they got from Iraq.
How convenient a (staged) photo for the "Syrian opposition forces" (AQ), who are known to have their own chemical weapons stocks "liberated" from a factory they attacked a few weeks ago. This is being built up to give the US a pretext to go into Syria on the side of AQ - oh, excuse me, I mean the "rebels."
“If evidence mounts that Assad already has used chemical weapons, the United States and Israel might coordinate to carry out a ground invasion, according to the London newspaper.”
US and Israel directly fighting Russia in Syria would be the start of the long awaited WW

i thought there were no WMDs in the M.E. - seriously though-i dont doubt it but wonder where they got theirs...?
funny/sad if they got them from Iraq- the press will have to be careful on who they blame for WMDs and sources.
Please see post #3 and #4.

You should read this: it is getting stifling hot in Syria.
I'd wager it's true - the Israelis aren't as averse to HUMINT as we have become - I'd bet they have operatives through the region and even here on our turf - I wish them well.
I still contend that Hussein of Iraq moved his WMD’s to syria before we went to War with him.

Israelis have been very quiet about this whole situation. Usually a sign they are preparing for action.
