COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - A Colorado Springs apartment manager threatens to raise the rent of anyone who voted to re-elect President Barack Obama.
John Obringer sent out a letter to his tenants at the Casa Adobe Apartments on Wednesday. The letter was addressing cutbacks on staff and maintenance issues.
"Due to the stupidity of the U.S. electorate, the Obama-administration's continued assault on small business is resulting in increased taxes, regulations and mandates that are forcing the management company (B&J Enterprises, Inc.) for Casa Adobe Apartments to modify its operation to survive. This has resulted in layoffs, work-time reductions and decreased pay for workers. Consequently, the business hours are now Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Please plan accordingly ... We are working hard to maintain the field, cleaning and maintenance personnel in place without raising rents, but that too is inevitable due to the upcoming inflation and market forces," writes Obringer.
"If you have any questions, comments or criticisms, please call me. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and Happy Holidays to you and yours," continues Obringer.
Then he added, "BTW: If you voted "Democrat" on Nov. 6, please notify me ASAP so I can raise your rent first to help pay for what you asked for."
"I think it's wrong. That's your constitutional right to vote for who you want," said a tenant who wished to hide her identity.
She went on to tell KRDO News Channel 13 that Obringer had already threatened to kick her out for voting for President Obama...

Holy smokes. I see one shmuck at my corporate main office (I work at a satellite office) gave over 27k to D candidates including over 4k to Obama. I though the limit was 2500??
Hubbie & I are child free. The young adult nieces & nephews who voted for BHO have been cut out of the will. (Not that there will be any money left when we kick the bucket.) Yes, elections do have consequences.
Gee, just got home from work.... and on a related note:
In our pharmacy, I am seeing an ever increasing Rx co-pay for people. Both generic and brand name drug co-pays $10-$30 more than a few months ago. So, we’ve been getting a lot of *itching and moaning about “why the increase cost?”.
Well, we answer, there are many mandates in obamacare and one is the implementation of “free” bc’s to women (http://www.freedomworks.org/blog/jborowski/obamacares-birth-control-mandate-contraception-is). AND, we have been seeing an increasing number of birth control co-pays pricing out at the $0.00 mark. These co-pays were anywhere from $5-$45.
We ask these upset customers where do THEY think this “lost revenue” is going to come from? It’s amazing how many variations of the “deer in the headlights look” that are expressed.
For my customers that I know are conservative - we commiserate together.
For my customers that I know are liberals and voted for zero - I say, “Well you have a job and are working. So, welcome to the new obama birth control TAX... the first of many many more.” It’s also amazing to see the variety of sneers that the human face can conjure.
Ciao
Make sure, do a reverse mortgage and take an around-the-world cruise. Pre-pay your burial expenses and slip away pissing everyone off.

I saw an article yesterday about the medical device tax of 3.25% on SALES of the firm, not PROFIT. I would deal with that by putting a line item on every sale of 3.25% medical device tax as a line item on the sales receipt. Don't just absorb it. It's a federally imposed sales tax. Collect it. Let the buyer understand exactly the origin of the extra cost.
Yep, just as it is our right to say what ever we want to whom ever we want. However, one must also except the consequences for the acts. Vote for a business destroying communist and you will pay for it in increased cost for every thing, including rent. To be fair to the landlords they didn't say they were only going to raise bozo voters rent, just that they would be first in line.
I used to have that bumper sticker! We became infested with way too many Californians. I always amazed me how these people were trying to escape their cesspool that they created and as soon as they got here they wanted to change Colorado into the very place they just left.
The market for rental properties is very tight and rents are up everywhere because a huge chunk of the population is choosing to rent vs. buy. It’s part of the reason there are so many investors purchasing rental properties. Increased taxes might be a small factor but there is no way to isolate the impact to Obama voters.
Darn right! The only thing I'd change is instead of calling it a federal sales tax, I'd list it on the receipt in bold print as a "Democratic Party Mandatory Sales Tax".
