The time to fight is at the polls. Once the elections are done and you’re a minority party, well, you’re a minority party. It’s fantasy land to think that you can go to war in congress with a slim majority in the house of representatives, while the opposing party has the executive position and the senate locked down. I know some of the older FReepers especially where raised on Mr. Smith goes to Washington fantasy where one man makes a difference and wins the day, but in the real world of politics, numbers are the only power that counts. I have no disagreement on this but that DOESN’T mean you lay down and let them run over you-You stop there any where and way you can. The House can block legislation and it should! It may even be able to use its control to gain concessions if they hold true!
