I apologize to America's young people, whose dashed dreams and dim employment prospects I had laughed at, believing these to be a direct result of their voting for Obama.
On closer examination, it turns out that young voters, aged 18-29, overwhelmingly supported Romney. But only the white ones.
According to Pew Research, 54 percent of white voters under 30 voted for Romney and only 41 percent for Obama. That's the same percentage Reagan got from the entire white population in 1980. Even the Lena Dunham demographic -- white women under 30 -- slightly favored Romney.
Reagan got just 43 percent of young voters in 1980 -- and that was when whites were 88 percent of the electorate. Only 58 percent of today's under-30 vote is white and it's shrinking daily.

They are tough people, and almost all the refugees from Somalia are military folks.
By reputation they are very, very rugged and stand their ground, and are used to being on top ~ back home. Their self-reliance has brought them together in several communities around the country so they show up as groups.
Guy across the street was a general. He was the fellow who gave orders to the Somali army to undertake an exercise in the South while the Ethiopian army came in the North and exterminated the AlQaida located there ~ it was a total surprise.
So, he's here. His kids are here. All his closest relatives are here too and some of them are probably in that photo we are asked to look at and imagine has folks up to vote fraud.
We need more information to come to that judgment.
Then there was another Somali general placed in a safehouse a couple of blocks away. Some Title 8 folks thought he'd like to give them his money and they came down here and kidnapped his daughter.
He kept his money and his daughter and they all went to prison ~ easy to catch after he got done with them ~ these people are TOUGH! Great neighbors.
Not all of them are Moslems ~ which is why the attempts by AlQaida and other Middle Eastern crazy guys to mislead their sons into going back over there to fight has been REPORTED by the elders to the FBI, etc.
I would expect that after 20 years residency, plenty of them are legitimate voters by now. They probably attracted the attention of the photographers because they are dressed up in traditional East African sari's.
Do they speak English? The adults I've met speak English and a couple of other languages ~ they go to school to learn the current world language ~ the ones working in the 7/11s also speak Spanish!
This may be difficult for some to accept, but there are third-world people who value voting so highly they put on their best clothes to go vote. They consider it a sacred duty.
We need to go to those folks and explain to them why they are God's own Republican voters.
As for the Somalis or any other legal voter they bused in: we should have had vans driving the hills of southern Ohio the Sunday before election day also offering rides to the polling place.

Can we give each voter 2 or 3 ballots and keep the polls open as long as we need to in order to get the vote totals we have been told to produce for the party?
Ann keeps using 1980 because Anderson really helps her numbers when she leaves him out.
The democrats won 44% of the total under 30 vote in 1980, and 36% of the total white vote in 1980.
Obama won about 40% of the white vote, and worst of all, Romney left millions of white votes on the table which hurt us down the ticket.
Romney was a disaster for republicans, and when you look at who he is and his relationship, or lack of it, to republican politics, you wonder, how in the heck did this fringe character take over the GOP?
Philadelphia has entire precincts with no whites, no Republicans, no Libertarians ~ and you are surprised Romney didnt get any votes there?

When you have voter rolls that haven’t been cleaned up in many decades and one of every 6 Americans moves each year you have no explaination except election fraud to explain how with AT MOST 65-70% of the names on the poll list being valid ,, and with a 60% turnout .. it is HIGHLY SUSPECT if you get more than 45% of the roll turnout... That leaves the RAT precinct captains all day to manufacture vote cards to assign to the unused names (assuming they weren’t filled out weeks before).
There were NO 100% Romney precincts in the entire country ,, best he did was 97.x% in one tiny Texas district ... that is statistically what you would expect.
As to the 110% turnout 100% Obama Filthadelphia and Ohio districts that doesn’t match with the 4-5% non-Obama vote from Holders people ... I could believe 96% , 97% even 99% but not 100.00% from each precinct... some black people actually do vote ideology rather than skin color.
I said it differently but you are correct ,,, nothing is absolute like that ... even Ivory Soap is only 99.44% pure.
Even if you wanted to say that some of the White liberals who supported Anderson would have gone for Reagan, it doesn't affect her basic argument.
So, no, her point is valid and using 1980 isn't any kind of trick.
Sadly I think r right and real soon like the next four years
That's another way of saying that if GOP voters can't get to the polls on their own, the party doesn't want their vote. Maybe the GOP shouldn't do political advertising - if voters can't figure out on their own that the GOP's the party for them, the party doesn't want their vote. Heck - the GOP should dismantle its think tanks - if voters can't figure why conservatism is the right political orientation for them, it's pointless for the GOP to hand them the moral equivalent of crutches.
Anderson was a lifelong republican, to the right of Mitt Romney, who was at first supported by Romney/Rockefeller’s wing of the GOP and he ran against Reagan in the primary before going Independent.
Republican Anderson ran as an Independent and hurt Reagan as much as Carter among the total vote, as he served as the middle ground between Carter and Reagan, a true right-winger.
This year, millions of whites just stayed home because of Romney. This year, the guy to the left of John Anderson, the anti-Reagan guy, Mitt Romney, was Jimmy Carter and John Anderson rolled into one.
Carter could only muster 44% of the total under 30 vote in 1980, and 36% of the total white vote in 1980.
People will go to any length to keep the rino dream of the conservative hating, anti-Reagan, Romney, alive.
“Why did the Asian vote go to Obama?
They believe in hard work, family, study/education, and start their own businesses and have fled from Govt domination.
So what gives?”
The answer flies in the face of neo-conservative dogma — which has been embraced by all too many who call themselves conservative.
Traditional American conservatism is a set of philosophical and moral values that was the creation of one ethnic group, which evolved through both experience and reason. And after a few hundred years, those values remain appealing within the confines of that same ethnic group.
Other ethnic groups just don’t seem interested in it, in larger than token numbers.
To put it another way, it’s as if the neo-cons believe that anyone and everyone can be “just like us”, if only given the opportunity. It assumes everyone (and every group) is “the same”. But to believe that is as much a fallacy as the notion that “all cultures are equal”. They are not.
If we wanted America to remain culturally unified, why did we do everything possible to Balkanize it? What other country anywhere in the world composed of unlike ethnic groups has remained united for very long?
The United States shall go down in the world’s history as first nation to ever deliberately Balkanize itself — and to fail for having done exactly that.
The media is having a heluva time addressing massive voter fraud for some reason.
A new release of this postage stamp is needed:
All modern politics is cult of personality. And that’s been one of our weaknesses lately, the guys we’re putting forth don’t have a personality. Romney is a white bread guy with a hard liberal background, easy for Dems to cast as “the enemy” and completely unexciting for what’s supposed to be his conservative base. The fact that he managed pull down 60 million votes is a sign of how many people just wanted to vote against Obama, but Romney never had a message, he never had a point to hammer home, he never had a counter attack. And a lot of that is because he had nothing to counter on, when the same group of advisers wrote both candidates signature legislation the challenger has nothing to run on.
Unquestionably, Reagan carried Massachusetts, Vermont, New York, Maine, Wisconsin, and possibly other states only because Anderson was in the race, so in that way, Anderson definitely did hurt Carter more than Reagan.
I can see that you are obsessed by Romney, and that explains many of your posts. I don't see what it means to say Romney was more liberal than Anderson, though. Times and issues have changed so much that such a comparison isn't very meaningful.
Suffice it to say, John Anderson was endorsed by the very liberal New Republic in 1980. This year they were violently opposed to Mitt Romney.
By offering a Romneylike republican, Anderson helped bring out anti-Reagan voters who would have set at home.
Speaking of obsessions, one of us is a conservative fighting for conservatism and to make sure that a man who didn’t even belong in republican politics, doesn’t get white washed and become a GOP leader and continue to contaminate the party with his bizarre left wing politics and ideas, and you are obsessed with advancing him and protecting his dark and sinister influence.
Lifetime republican, Anderson was to the right of Romney, but they were both anti-Reagan.
But support Romney or not, I can't see much point in hounding or vilifying him (you do realize that you can oppose someone without doing that -- or maybe you don't). In any case, carrying on the abuse after he ceases to be a factor looks like a waste of time.
I guess you think your bona fides are proved by obsessively attacking Romney. I'm not sure that was ever the case. All this repeated talk of "contamination" may mark you down as something more dangerous. But by now it's probably time to move on to something more constructive.
Your obsessive defending, promoting, legitimizing of Mitt Romney is well recognized, you have an agenda, and he serves it at this point, plus you respect and embrace the views of the failed governor, whack case.
Romney wanted to run for reelection in Massachusetts, but he failed in that endeavor and had to end that dream when his own internals told him that he had disastrous poll numbers.
Romney devastated the state party, crawled out of office with 34% approval, lost the seat to the democrats, and they have held it since, Mitt had been the 4th GOP governor in a row, in a state that normally prefers GOP governors, Mitt has probably ended that.
Now we have to try and fix what he has broken in the national republican party and image.
Romney has contaminated the GOP brand and has introduced hard core leftism and socialism to the GOP presidency, he has made it legitimate to support his radical leftist agenda, and has emboldened players like you.
