I've been a fan of JC Watts for a long time. As a twenty-something in Ottawa, Canada in the '80s, I enjoyed my football team, the Rough Riders (may they RIP), with JC at the helm. They didn't win a Grey Cup during his time there however, there was plenty of action.

As a conservative Canuck, it was a bonus to find out years ago, that JC was also a conservative Congressman. FWIW, I hoped that he would have been the first black President of the US, rather than your current Pres__ent.
As a conservative Canuck, who obviously does not have a say in any of this, I think that JC Watts would be an excellent choice. According to Wikipedia, "He had a lifetime 94 percent rating from the American Conservative Union and a lifetime "liberal quotient" of 1 percent from Americans for Democratic Action..."

Don't know him personally, but know folks who do. And they think the world of J.C. -- as a man.

Why are you a formerly Proud Canadian? Unless it is because of the NHL strike, you still have Harper who seems like a good guy.
If it is about the NHL strike, I miss my Tampa Bay Lightning!! (but then, I do miss my Whalers, even more!!!)
