After the predictable, shocked rhetoric of death about Jovan Belcher of West Babylon High and the Kansas City Chiefs, you still arrived back at the only place that mattered in the last hour of his life: the gun.
You plowed through all the rest of it in the aftermath of what happened Saturday morning outside Arrowhead Stadium, went through the résumé of how many positions Belcher played for Coach Al Ritacco at West Babylon, how he played linebacker at the University of Maine before he became a defensive lineman, and how he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chiefs and emerged as a star. All that was relevant in the end, the only relevant job description, was this:
Jovan Belcher, shooter.
Shooter of the mother of his 3-month-old daughter with his own mother in the house, then himself. Maybe we will never find out what brought him to this moment, rage or jealousy or the need to obsessively control Kasandra Michelle Perkins, his girlfriend. Maybe it will turn out to be a brain injury nobody knew about, or something else that caused this madness.
But we do know this: Murdering this young woman, 22, and then killing himself in front of his coach and his general manager was made easy by a gun, because a gun always makes it easier.

Oh...wait!
A question posed ONLY to point out the absurdity of the article’s premise:
“How much crime would be prevented if blacks weren’t allowed to own guns?”
A man if Belcher’s size could have easily killed her with his hands. What a tragedy for the baby left behind.
What if he entered the broadcast booth where Bob Costa's sat?
Wonder if ol Bobby would celebrate concealed carry at this moment?

Let's have a national discussion about the Black Elephant in the room, BLACK on BLACK crime.
Or just read a “tabloid” style newspaper from somewhere where personal gun ownership is more restricted. Without even going to today’s edition of the Daily Mail, I can guess that there is at least one story about somebody who murdered their spouse/SO without a gun. If not today then tomorrow. Tins lie this happen and it had nothing to do with a gun.
Idiocy, made easy by Mike Lupica. What a no talent a$$ clown...

Note to typical white liberal.
OJ DIDN’T USE A GUN
Plugged-in toaster into the bath water when she was getting ready for a night out?
Liberals always blame the object instead of the person’s attitude and personnality.
Very sad that he snuffed out someone else’s life and left his child without either parent.
Ban all pencils too, my son flunked his math test.
Gun, knife, fists, a club, you-name-it, the instrumentality is not critical, the character of the perpetrator is. Bob Costas and his ilk can look the other way when O.J. (who perpetrated rape while at USC, and had it hushed by USC cash, not to disturb his Heisman) or some other favorite is great on the athletic field. But then, after denying the essential nature of these folks, they want to blame us? Are you kidding me?
Sports "journalism" is a pathetic place. Look at ESPN and its politically correct handling of the Sandusky matter. Nah, not even a word in edgewise to suggest that this was homosexual pederasty, it was "child abuse" in their phrasing. When the Freeh report came out and the evidence of explicit homosexual acts, not acts of violence or submission were included in the repertoire, ESPN just looks past that.
It's as though sports "journalism", the moment they address things outside of the lines of the playing field, is about the most intensely politically correct realm going.
Who ever made the first gun is a horrible person. He should be taken out and shot!
the only brain injuries evident are the ones displayed by Costas, Lupica,, ad nauseum.. etc.
