While President Obama has been a unifying force in the black community during his first term in office, his presidency has also fueled deep divisions among many African Americans. The presidents first-term policies sparked heated debates among a host of well-known black intellectuals and political observers who argue that the president has ignored the issues of his most loyal base.
These tensions will likely remain throughout Obamas second term unless he quickly reverses course.
Critics, such as Cornel West and Tavis Smiley, will likely continue to press Obama to address the needs of black America, while others will struggle to determine how to best capitalize on Obama's second term and get him to push forward a black agenda.
But what should this payback look like? Unlike other interest groups, such as gays and Hispanics, who responded positively to symbolic gestures from the president, African Americans appear as if they cannot come to an agreement on what a priority list should be. The community seems to lack a unifying issue that Obama could address. And we seem to also lack a clear strategy for implementing what those community-friendly policies might be.
But that doesnt negate the presidents responsibility to address the concerns of black Americans and respond to their call for social policy that addresses their greatest needs. Indeed, there are a mix of specific issues that might delicately satisfy his most loyal followers. These direct policies could address the disproportionate loss of wealth among black families; a reinvigorated, targeted civil rights agenda; a more holistic approach to family cohesion; and a commitment to Africans around the globe...

I’ve read the article, and second your response.
Oh Bruhthuh...
O’Zer0 will throw them a carrot. 96% of his staff is, eh, “white”.
Chalk it up to another of the lies by Zer0.
Not only a commitment to “American” blacks, but also to African blacks-so he’s leader of blacks worldwide, white Americans are free to look to someone else for leadership (not that I’ve yet seen anyone worthy of it). If his one and only alliegance is to blacks wherever they are, then whites have the right to handle our affairs ourselves, as whites. Thanks for that much, Hussein, though I know that wasn’t your intention. You do want to keep us around to squeeze us for the taxes to pay for your black loyalists. Too bad, you’ve made it plain that they’re your only concern, so we need our money to address our own concerns and those of our children, about whom you couldn’t care less.
Such a sick sob....
I really shouldn’t torture myself and read such horrid news at this hour! I doubt I’ve slept a full night since the election, that sense of dread just grows, and grows....
“Give us yo stuff.....cracker”
The presidents first-term policies sparked heated debates among a host of well-known black intellectuals and political observersOf course you never heard a peep about this from the MSM before Obama's "re-election".
It's amazing and depressing to realize the American people can't see through this. From the article:
Any agenda thats void of a sustainable strategy for economic advancement will do African Americans little good. But a universal plan seeking to help the poor and middle class stay afloat will fall short of meeting the black communitys specific needs.
Which is to say, "let's decide on the best way to loot America."
If not for cotton & greed, most of this could have been avoided, including the treasonous obscenity @ 1600.
>> to address the needs of black America
What are the needs of Black America it cannot provide itself?
Mainly your money; if we take it directly we go to jail.
She said, "The slice of the American Pie, among other things. It's those, poor single moms.
Well, how about getting married FIRST, before having babies?
He won’t do anything for blacks.
But he’ll handle the issue like Benghazi: “I will conduct a thorough investigation into their needs, and will not stop until their needs are identified. But let me be clear: I assure the black community we are doing everything in our power to assist them”.
Followed by fawning commentary in the press. Followed by new rounds of golf.

Street activists, extortionists, black nationals and agitators.
The Feds have destroyed black families with welfare and the "great society". In a like manner, the numerous federal loans have contributed to the exploding cost of higher education and have created an education cost "bubble". Everything the Fed touches, it destroys. Now it is going to destroy the healthcare system.
I do!
The really humane thing to do with blacks who do not like living here: Give them a one-way ticket back to Africa. Then they can feel at home and develop a true love for their mother country.
