The 1951 Scrooge staring Alastair Sim. The best telling of the Christmas Carol of them all.

Second favorite is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Hot chicks, Golden Retrievers, and a love story. What more do you want?

Funny stuff. I can’t think of anyone else who could pull off that department store scene as well as Chevy Chase. Then there’s the Snots the dog scene. Sure, there are some silly parts, but there are so many truly funny scenes that make the silly parts worth watching, again and again.

A Christmas Story
Fred Clause
Home Alone 1 & 2
The Santa Clause 1 & 2
Elf

Here's an interesting trivia point I just found out yesterday. Did you know the grown up Ralphie from A Christmas Story is one of the elves in the beginning of the movie "Elf?" Google for "Peter Billingsley Elf" and you'll see which one. I've seen that movie numerous times & had no idea, since he's uncredited, and grown up. But he's in it a fair amount in the beginning, and once you see which elf he is, it's pretty obvious that it's Ralphie all grown up :).

Its a shame thats the only movie she ever did.

I think she was Martin Scorcese niece. I know she was related to him some how.

For those of you who only watch pre 1965 movies here’s another good one with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh
titled Holiday Affair.

Part of the reason why the country is in the crapper is because no one wants to deal with the hard stuff, and the Republicans are a bunch of pansies who can’t wait to get to the bar for happy hour.

“Fiscal cliff crap” ?

Seriously?

So you’re saying if this thread hadn’t been started the problem would have been solved?

Out here in reality people know you can’t obsess on bad news all the time. Every once in a while you need to take a deep cleansing breath, maybe watch a movie or two.

All these posts sent me to my Verizon FIOS DVR, so far A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Christmas Carol are not scheduled, at least in So Cal. I think the schedule goes out about 10-14 days. It’s a Wonderful Life and Christmas Vacation Check!

The Bishop’s Wife (Carey Grant, Loretta Young, David Niven and Monty Wooley)

The Shop Around The Corner (Jimmy Stewart and Frank Morgan)

Remember The Night (Fred McMurray and Barbara Stanwyck)
