"How Can I Tell You I Miss You When You Won't Go Away"
Just play your country songs backward.
Your woman breaks off her affair and returns to you, your dog comes back home, and you sober up, at least somewhat.
I don't care if they're Brits. It's country!

Love songs to my Home State, Texas
1) “Texas” - George Strait
2) “Somewhere Down in Texas” - George Strait
If I said you have a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?
That song always makes my nose tingle, and I get a little teary. :)

Colin Raye-’Love Me’
I read a note my Grandma wrote back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat, and he showed it once to me
He said, “Boy, you might not understand, but a long, long time ago,
Grandma’s daddy didn’t like me none, but I love your Grandma so.
We had this crazy plan to meet and run away together
Get married in the first town we came to and live forever
But nailed to the tree where we were supposed to meet instead
I found this letter, and this is what it said,
“If you get there before I do
Don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I’ll be
But I’m not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then
Til I see you again
I’ll be loving you
Love, Me.”
I read those words just hours before my Grandma passed away
In the doorway of the church where me and Grandpa stopped to pray
I know I’ve never seen him cry in all my fifteen years
But as he said these words to her, his eyes fill up with tears
“If you get there before I do
Don’t give up on me
I’ll meet you when my chores are through
I don’t know how long I’ll be
But I’m not gonna let you down
Darling wait and see
And between now and then
Til I see you again
I’ll be loving you
Love, Me.”

Tim McGraw-’Don’t Take the Girl’
Johnny’s daddy was taking him fishin’
He was eight years old.
Little girl came through the front gate
Holdin’ a fishin’ pole.
His dad looked down and smiled,
Said, “We can’t leave her behind”
“Son, I know you don’t want her to go,
But someday you’ll change your mind.”
And Johnny said,
“Take Jimmy Johnson,
Take Tommy Tompson.
Take my best friend, Bo.
Take anybody that you want as
Long as she don’t go.
Take any boy in the world,
Daddy please, don’t take the girl.”
Same old boy, same sweet girl
Ten years down the road.
He held her tight and kissed her lips in
Front of the picture show.
Stranger came and pulled a gun
Grabbed her by the arm said “If you do what I tell you to,
There won’t be any harm”
And Johnny said “Take my money,
Take my wallet,
Take my credit cards.
Here’s the watch that my grandpa gave me
Here’s the key to my car
Mister give it a whirl,
But please don’t take the girl.”
Same old boy
Same sweet girl
Five years down the road
There’s gonna be a little one and she
Says it’s time to go.
Doctor says the baby’s fine
But you’ll have to leave
‘Cause his momma’s fading fast and
Johnny hit his knees and there he prayed
“Take the very breath you gave me.
Take the heart from my chest.
I’ll gladly take her place if you’ll let me,
Make this my last request.
Take me out of this world
God, please don’t take the girl”
Johnny’s daddy
Was taking him fishin’
When he was eight years old
