So, the fiscal cliff is whether to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire or modify them. What happens if they expire? Taxes go up on everyone. They even go up on the poor. They just won’t get as big a refund check. Do you think they won’t notice that? They will. Income tax refund checks are a huge item to lower income people. It’s like a rich uncle leaving them money. And they get it every year. You don’t have to raise taxes on lower income people. They don’t actually pay income tax anyway. Just reduce, or threaten to reduce, that refund. Tie that in to this fight. They might not be thinking of their refunds now, but I guarantee you that they’ll compare it to last year’s refund.

I’m waiting to see the reaction of liberals who spent the last 12 years talking about the “Bush tax cuts for the rich”, after they see their bill when those cuts actually expire.
