“The status quo has plenty of states...”
That’s the point. The Federal Government is pretty much nothing in and of itself. It’s the will of the States to put up opposition using the Federal Government as their agent.
What took place in the 1860’s wasn’t the War Between Lincoln and Davis or the War Between the Federal Government and the Confederate Government, it was the War Between the States. People don’t seem to get that.
It’s funny that the left points out that the “red states” take in more federal money than they pay in taxes, so it’ll be a net loss for them if they leave.
No, really, it won’t, lefties. Because that “federal money” coming in is going to welfare and entitlement programs that just won’t exist anymore in the seceding states.
And, those people who won’t work (we’ll help those who CAN’T work) will pack up and move to where Santa Claus is still active - ie, your “blue” states.
Meanwhile, those folks you’re taxing out the wazoo in order to support your welfare/santa claus programs will pack up and move to the new free states.
