NH's first openly transgender lawmaker won't take office
Union Leader ^ | November 28, 2012 | Simon Rios

NASHUA — Following a storm of controversy in light of her criminal background, the first openly transgendered person elected to the New Hampshire House will resign her post. “I didn't want to have to do this,” Rep.-elect Stacie Marie Laughton, D-Nashua, said. “There's been a lot of people that have said, 'Stay strong, keep your head up, stay in it.'” “I'm super disappointed because I was looking forward to this more than anything. It's my lifelong dream to serve my community, and what better place to do it than the city that I was born and raised in.”

Blame the idiots that moved up there to escape the disaster that is Massachusetts and then immediately started voting for the same types of crooks and pervs that turned Massachusetts into the laughing stock they were trying to get away from!

Many thousands of same-day registrants. Guess who they voted for. The state is lost. There are a couple counties which only have 3 Republican reps each. Last time around, there were two counties with NO Democrat reps.
We are overwhelmed with out of state students and other “come heres”. And, sadly, they all turned out and it’s all legal. That’s why I say the state is lost.

“openely transgendered?”
What part of “transgendered” is not OPEN and obvious for all to see? One day you have a bearded one who stands up in the men’s room, the next day one with a light beard who sits down in the lady’s room.

Don’t be so quick to make yourself look foolish. The most reliably Republican part of the state is those towns right along the Mass border which are populated with escapees from Massivetushes - Windham, Salem, Hudson, Derry, Londonderry (for example).

I had heard that Republican voters turned out heavily in 2010 because the GOP had promised/hinted that they would overturn NH's 'gay marriage' law. Of course; the GOP put that issue on the 'back burner' once they got into office.

Do you know if that was the case, or just more BS?

You mean a “bro,” or, if you prefer, a “manziere.”

Yes, the stupid party could not even with a super majority fix the voter fraud. Frankly they did not want too.

NH Repbulicans starting with anyone named Sununu should be ignored at a min, tarred and feathered, max.

The TEA party in NH was respondsible for 2010, but, the RINO Party hacks killed off Jack Kimball and the rest is history.... So glad to be out of NH, knowing I have minimal taxes going to the NH and US Gov beast. Life is good.

“Assistant Attorney General Mike Brown said Tuesday that Laughton’s eligibility to run and serve in public office is under review, and he must review all the sentencing documents.

He said the law is not as clear as it could be, and it uses language that includes the “final discharge” of the sentence.

Once again PROOF POSITIVE the vermin lawmakers and lawyers cannot even agree on their own convoluted laws that we are supposed to follow.

Well Freepers, ignorance of the law should now be the law of the land. Given the tax cheats in congress and the Treasury we should not be held to higher standards as if they cannot understand the law how on earth are we supposed to do it?

The real problem is suburban New Yorkers...they ruined Vermont, Red Hampshire is next.

Any representative can file any legislation that he or she sees fit. No, it wasn’t put on the back burner. That legislation went through the process and it was defeated, thanks (obviously) to all the Democrats and a whole bunch of spineless Republicans. The speaker and the leadership favored it. It didn’t pass. Another piece of evidence that the state of NH is indeed lost.
I was there. I saw it happen. My votes are recorded. We lost.

Looks like those students thought they would have a little 'fun' in Nashua...

NH conservative should leave....there is zero, I mean zero representation for Christians in NH. The RINO’s run the NH Stupid Party and they hate and I mean hate all Conservatives. They have more hate for TEA Party types and social conservatives/Christians than they have for the pedophile enabling Ray Buckley, State Demoncrat Party Chair and this sorry excuse for a human, STACIE. The NH Stupid Party is more evil and less honest than the Demoncrats: The NH Stupid Party killed off Jack Kimball, TEA Party dude with a quiet campaign behind closed doors... The NH Democrats have Reps like Stacie winning and Ray Buckley at the Helm, they are at least open and honest about who they are and what they want. The NH RINO Part aka The Stupid Party is decietful and evil. I took my time and money and departed. Time for many decent NH Conservatives to do the same. Some day I may return as a resident, but not right now, just a land owner.

The real problem is suburban New Yorkers..

The idea they had in "Escape from New York",where they just built prison walls around the whole place, seems like an idea ahead of its time now...

Our next party chair is likely to be Jennifer Horn. A glimmer of hope.
BTW, she is also from Nashua. She is a Sarah Palin type. I like her.
