Our education system is a disaster. If it were making cars instead of educated adults the vehicles would be fantastically expensive but only a minority of them could attain normal driving speeds. Many basic features would not be offerred while dubious and deleterious features would come standard. Many would be dangerous to operate. A sizeable fraction would spontaneously self-destruct. No one in their right mind would buy one.

Yet we keep sending our kids to known dysfunction-breeding factories, because it is "our civic duty." Or something.

I'm an Alabama alumnus and even at the University the political correctness has long been pervasive. I recommended that the Tuscaloosa campus change its name to the University of Alabama at Calcutta (its not there but that name would better reflect its multicultural mission).
