Quite true.
But I’ve always found it interesting how recent some of our customs are.
In colonial New England celebrating Christmas was frowned on and/or illegal.
Christmas tree has nothing to with Christ. This pagan symbol of life was once transformed to tell the story of Christ’s resurrection to a foreign culture but its message is lost on our current culture.
OK, fine, let’s not “argue over the tree”... call it a CHRISTMAS tree and we’ll stop arguing and move on to more important things.
Hatred of Christ is becoming more and more pronounced, isn’t it?
That whole “scent of death to the perishing” is starting to burn their nostrils.
I would argue that hatred of Christ is off the mark when considering the problem. Closer to the mark would be hatred or at least very strong dislike for Christians or for religion.
Then, we are looking at Rhode Island. As I recall, the state was founded by those fleeing the persecution of Massachusetts Christian zealots. The heritage is not liking Christian rules.
Yes, but which religion is the question. Maybe the'll be happy with totally made up aluminum pole festivus trees or kwanzaa candle holders.
So the traditional Santa Claus will now be the genderless, neutral “Winter Season Person” with a slim and trim body and of no identifiable national or racially distinctive facial features or dress.
Additionally there will be no more “naughty and nice” stuff, too judgmental. Instead “Winter Season Person” will keep a data base on the under served and oppressed.
None of this reindeer being forced into involuntary labor either. WSP’s sleigh will be solar powered and of tiny carbon foot print.
Has any PC idea been overlooked?
College Reverses Christmas Tree Ban
By Todd Starnes
Oops.
A North Carolina community college that came under fire after they told students they could not use the word Christmas to promote a Christmas tree sale has reversed its decision.
Its a misunderstanding based on a legitimate mistake we made, said Atticus Simpson, vice president of student development at Western Piedmont Community College.
In other words, the college goofed up when they changed the BEST Societys Christmas tree sale to a Holiday tree sale.
We thought we were violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment by promoting the sale of Christmas trees which we thought would be promoting one religion over another, Simpson told Fox News.
The student group contacted Alliance Defending Freedom a legal advocacy group that handles many First Amendment issues. The ADF promptly sent the college a letter urging them to either reconsider their decision or face possible legal action.
Were pleased the college did the right thing, attorney Matt Sharp told Fox News. It really is ridiculous they tried to make this club use the word holiday instead of Christmas.
Sharp said the college has already changed the wording on their website and taking other steps to remedy the situation.

This is a small town in Western NC, not a liberal city. It created quite an uproar on Facebook and the idiots relented. “Holiday trees”. And what exactly is the “holiday”? I am so sick of these morons!
I think they just want to destroy American traditions, not just Christianity. A lot of our traditions just happen to be based on or represent Christianity. Just look at how they have forced revisionist history into the public schools. The Tea Party participants are now labeled as terrorists.

Whereas Richard Trumka as leader of the United Mine Workers, and Bill Ayers from the Weather Underground are real terrorists.
The irony is this ex-RINO Marxist “Independent” ran to the left of both the Democrat and GOP nominees. To say he is execrable would be a compliment.
It isn’t even a recent picture; the husband is a Lutheran and the wife a former Catholic. After visiting the Vatican years ago the husband was down on religion in general and Catholicism in particular (he thought the Vatican was too wealthy). Since then they do wierd stuff, like bringing their daughter to someone else’s First Communion in a First Communion dress so she could have her “day” as well (they had no ceremony whatsoever in any denomination). Real “post-Christian” stuff...
