DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors is giving its Chevrolet Spark a jolt of electricity.
An all-electric version of the mini-car will debut this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It goes on sale this summer in California, Oregon, Canada and South Korea, where it's made. Other markets will follow.
Unlike the Chevrolet Volt sedan, which can run in all-electric mode but also has a backup gas engine, the Spark EV is a pure electric. GM won't say how far the car will go on a charge, but says it will be a top performer among the small number of EVs available. The current leader, the electric Ford Focus sedan, can go 76 miles on a charge.

The grandkids asked me to catch up with "that little-bitty green car ahead" (same yucky green as the photo) so they could figure out what it was. I said, "It's just some sort of Chevy", but they had me pull up close enough until they could read, "Spark".
Looked like a silent, green rollerskate to me. No way you could fit that Afro into it -- much less the dude wearing it...
Wouldn't survive a collision with a Vespa...
What did the driver look like?
My guess is a single white female with jaw length page-boy haircut.........
My surprise was that we saw it on the road -- before they announced it at the car show...
I have a new gnome who is on this project, wish I could talk about what I heard today, fingers in my ears going la la la la la.......
There is a non-electric version, from Mexico, that may be what you all saw......
