A Fox News anchor abruptly ended an interview when the guest criticized the news network. Jon Scott was interviewing Thomas Ricks about his book, "The Generals" when Ricks accused Fox News of hyping up the recent attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.
According to the AP, Scott questioned Ricks as to why he would make such a claim when the attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Christopher Stevens - the first U.S. Ambassador assassinated in more than three decades.
Ricks asserted the incident amounted to a "small firefight" and said, "I think that the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing of the Republican Party."
At that point, Scott thanked Ricks and turned to his co-anchor, who then threw to a commercial break.

Precisely. Any strong nation would have had the streets run knee deep with blood and slaughtered those who had wrought such deeds, at a minimum. We are, in theory, a nation which could have removed Benghazi from the map, and we sat on our hands.
The Islamists will inevitably see this as a sign we do not have the will to resist. and more will die because of that.

A small firefight would be handguns and maybe some rifles but not mortars, RPG’s and at one point I heard 50cal on back of p/u trucks. That had to be some al Qaeda rag heads on a mission.

Thomas Ricks is a tool. He should’ve harangued Fox to upgrade their graphics.

Yes, they are getting out which speaks volumes given the poor jobs market.

For the answer to those questions, we will have to wait on the Presidents post presidential book, "If I Did It"....
Until then, you really don't think the Republicans will get to the bottom of it do you? Wishful thinking

...and we must keep asing the most important question.
I emailed Congressman Grimm a couple of days ago. No answer yet.
I really like your site, by the way.

Just looked up his works on amazon... he's a historian whose political beliefs cloud his professional objectivity. his book on Iraq was titled "fiasco". His hatred for Macarthur is legendary and suprisingly irrational for a scholar. An unrepenant ideologue.

Is there a link to the interview so we can view it?
Would be good to get a sense of the talk from actually listening to it. . .and get a sense to the closing of the interview.
I suspect the lefty was just taking his cheap-cowardly shot at the network at the close of his interview, knowing his time was up and there would be no way for Scott to engage.
Just my thought.

Who gave the order to our military to stand down and NOT implement plans to rescue our men in Benghazi on 9-11-12? When?
Why?
Those are the only questions that matter. Unfortunately, no one in a position to pursue the answers gives a tinker's damn.
The questions we're told we should care about are:
Under what desk did Patraeus and Broadwell have sex?
Will Jill Kelley be moving from her Palm Beach mansion?
Did Charlie Crist lie when he said he never dated the twin sister, Natalie?
