In a recent interview, Senator Marco Rubio, the Republican front-runner for 2016, was asked, "How old do you think the Earth is?" . It's a ridiculous question of utter irrelevance to the status of the country and whether Marco Rubio would be a good president. Rubio's answer was excellent: "I'm not a scientist, man. I can tell you what recorded history says, I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think that's a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. I think the age of the universe has zero to do with how our economy is going to grow. I'm not a scientist. I don't think I'm qualified to answer a question like that."
To any sensible person, this was a perfect response.
--snip--
A writer at the liberal Slate, who no doubt Googled before crafting his analysis, claimed authoritatively: "Our planet was formed 4.54 billion years ago. If Rubio suggested otherwise, it's because he's uninformed or stupid."
--snip--
Nonetheless, his answer might be the same: "Sorry, man, I'm not playing God."
In fact, here's a further response Rubio might consider more generally: "Look, Mr. NAME, let's be honest: We both know what you're trying to do. You're trying to trip me up, and I'm not going to fall for the trap. I'm not a theologian. I'm not a minister. I don't want to be one, and the American public doesn't want me to be one. Let's stick to the issues that concern people. And one more thing: Are you asking these same questions to any Democrats? Are you? Answer me. Which ones? Give me one example."
Say it calmly, gently, and with a smile -- but emphatically. Be strong. Be truthful...

After 40 years of this lame game, any Christian or pro-life politician that cant handle routine questions about his faith or his pro-life position, is clearly not qualified for the field of politics.

An appropriate response might be...
- How many horizontal pixels on your network’s broadcast format?
- What’s the circulation of the newspaper paying your salary?
BTW, Rubio gave a response in that interview.
Now this I like.
Where did you go to school? Did you graduate? What was your GPA? Have you ever had sex out of wedlock? Are you gay?
These are the kind of questions which the media should be asked. It helps to establish the slant they are going to put on the story?
Does the press “protest too much” about Rubio? Is it a coincidence that Rubio also has problems with the “natural-born citizen” requirement in Article III?
Republican front-runner????
He's the darling of the GOP, although a battle will be him against Rand Paul.
I'm pulling for Rand.
Rubio versus Rand Paul is not a matchup that particularly tickles my fancy.
He should have threw it right back in the liberal’s face and gave the standard LIBERAL response. “That’s above my pay grade”. Grinned and moved on.

If you haven't seen it, take the 15 minutes, well worth it. Whittle needs to be a speechwriter/ "message coach" for the next Republican/Conservative President.
Bill Whittle at David Horowitz's Restoration Weekend 2012
We MUST have candidates who can punch through the media's propagandizing, and that is what Whittle and Paul Kengor in this article are saying.
Smearing Rubio?!? Heavens to Betsy!
What are their FR nicks?
Thanks neverdem.
It is far from limited to just Christianity. See the Whittle speech in my post above for some examples. Really it is any conservative, free market, or traditional Constitutional belief.

His parents were not U.S. citizens when he was born.
Rubio is not a Natural Born Citizen.
We already got one Lord and Savior in the White House....ASK HIM!
If there were any honesty in the MSM, they’d ask all prominent Dims where they stand on the abortion of almost full term babies just prior to normal birth, or where they stand on medical aid to babies who surivive an abortion.
Of course, those questions are never asked, but we do hear the quesitons about pregnancy as a result of rape, or how old the earth is...
