Former senior aides to Mitt Romney have hit back at the 'craven hypocrites' in the Republican party who just days before the election were clamouring for jobs in a Romney administration and are now belittling him.
'There were one or two well-known figures who were late committing to support him, were the most eager to curry favour when it looked like we would win and are now out there trashing the governor.
(snip)
But the other senior adviser, who declined to be named when criticising senior Republicans, singled out Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Newt Gingrich as among those who had been quickest to lambast Romney. After Romney told donors on a post-election conference call that many voted for President Obama because he had offered them 'gifts', Jindal said Romney's comments were 'absolutely wrong'. He said: 'We have got to stop dividing American voters. We need to go after 100 per cent of the votes, not 53 per cent - we need to go after every single vote.'
That was a reference to Romney's notorious '47 per cent' comments in which he said that proportion of voters was dependent on government and would inevitably back a Democrat.
Gingrich called the 'gifts' comments 'nuts' and 'insulting' to voters.
The anonymous adviser said: 'Bobby Jindal wanted very, very much to be Vice President. He appeared publicly with Governor Romney after the 47 per cent comments, which the governor himself said were totally wrong. 'Newt Gingrich made it clear to us he wanted to be part of a Romney administration. 'Both these guys - and others - were the governor's best friend when it seemed he was on the brink of becoming our 45th President. Now they're calling him a bum. Real profiles in courage.'

An even better question would be, "If (as you alluded) half the country is a pack of moochers, bums, deadbeats, and parasites, how could a conservative who advocates smaller government EVER win?"
It sounds to me like you think America is dead in the water.
Unfortunately, I tend to agree.
While it is cute that you play games, and link a book.
My question is more current, and more relevant to the election that took place 2 weeks ago.
It was a terrible gaffe, what is the raw data, who are the 47%, what is the 47%?
Why couldnt the freakazoid explain his own statement?
I gave you the link. Do your own homework.
It was Newt who called obama the food-stamp president, and said something about kids not having a work ethich, and now has the audacity to criticize Mitt? HE is a hypocrite.
I don’t know if Jindal would have been a better pick than Ryan or not. I actually believe that Mitt chose Ryan because he thought he could win Wisconsin with him on the ticket. Louisiana was already going in the Romney camp.
I also believe that Christie was feeling snubbed too and the reason for his remarks and kissing obama’s feet.
Maybe the VP spot was offered to Rubio and he turned it down because if the ticket lost - which it did - it would hurt him if he decided to run in 2016.
A congressman usually never gets chosen to be a president or VP. For some reason people think senators make better choices.
folks if you want to win any races please
listen to sickolibs... in a tight race ground game is critical and local advertising is key.
Re Romney, he performed perfectly on the first debate was excellent on the issues, but instead of sticking with what was Increasing his numbers, he switches to mister friggin nice guy, gigantic mistake and stopped his rise in the polls.
Obama took full advantage and beat the crap out of him.
the big questiom, wth did mitt pull his punches?
My gosh, you are totally incompetent.
You can’t even find a way to defend your guy, or your point of view.
The vague, fuzzy candidate?? Oh, you mean like obama who ran on slogans and never put forth a plan for either term.
Yep, Romney had obama on the ropes and instead of going for the knockout, he took his gloves off and allowed zero to sucker punch him.
Maybe our R candidates should spend some time in Chicago and learn how to street fight in politics. This Mr. Nice Guy crap has never worked. Reagan took it to Carter in a nice way, but never once backed down or let up. He won both terms in landslides.
For those Rs who want to distance themselves from Reagan - shame on them. They could learn a thing or two from the Gipper.
No, a real candidate in my view would have said (told the voters) that voters are too good to be satisfied with food stamps and welfare and that they will reject O for that. He would have tried to convince voters who have been crushed by Obama 's policies to be disgusted with the status quo by rising them above it in their minds. "Voters will reject... because they are proud......'
In contrast a loser like Romney told the voters on a secretly recorded tape :” Don't be surprised if I don't get elected because the voters are a bunch of freeloading moochers who just want your money so you better dig deep in your pockets so I can try to hold them off:
Romney deserves our contempt.
Obama wasn’t running for Governor, was he?
Yeah, the liberal assclown I told you I didn't, and would never, vote for is "my guy".
You are a moron, lol.
Have a nice life.
I didn’t like Romney from the beginning.
I think he ran a horrible campaign.
That doesn’t mean Obama and the Dems didn’t cheat
Romney was great at beating the crap out of other Repubs in the primary but then rolls over in the general, just absolute BS...
Thanks Bro.,
On fighting back. During the campaign I posted HERE specifically how Romney needs to go on the attack against O many times but I got jumped by the ‘No he shouldn’t attack Obama because he is winning big now already and he shouldn’t risk losing that’ crowd here.
No wonder they need these massive conspiracy delusions.
Norton AV says not to click on suspicious links which looks like yours HA-HA,
Because he wanted to run "an honorable (losing) campaign" - - you know, like McCain.
