Thanks, but hardly news to anyone.
Anyone want to know where we got the term "low fat diet"?
The Nazi doctors decided to starve the detainees slowly. So, they devised a soup that was filled with vegetables, but had no protein and no fat, but did have a meat broth for taste. They found that by giving this soup the people would become lethargic enough that they mentally would not realize that they were starving to death. The brain needs protein and fat. All of the emaciated people you see in the concentration camp photos were fed this "low fat diet." They actually experimented on the ratio of ingredients and what would be best to produce death within a matter of months.
In his book, Lifton describes one of the nazi doctors, proud of the fact that their work was so successful. He held a child who was extremely emaciated and on the verge of death having been fed their special diet that the doctor had no problem holding an entire four year old body with one hand.
Seriously?
