'It may be difficult to believe, but according to research published next month a world without war may be getting nearer.
Futurologists from the University of Oslo in Norway and the Peace Research Institute Oslo have predicted that global conflict will halve in the next 40 years.
Their study claims the combination of higher education, lower infant mortality, smaller youth cohorts, and lower population growth are a few of the reasons why the world can expect a more peaceful future.
That will mean in the next five years the current conflicts in Libya, Tajikistan, Syria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mauritania and Iraq will probably be over, the research suggests.
As the risk of war decreases worldwide, by 2017 it will be greatest in India, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Uganda and Burma.
And by 2050, as the number of countries at war falls from one in six to one in 12, the risk of conflict will be greatest in India, Nigeria, Sudan, Ethiopia and Tanzania.'

Wasn’t World War 1 called “The War to End all Wars”, I think for a couple of decades (until they repopulated).
These poor “scientists” are either very stupid or don’t have access to any news about what is going on in the world.
Of course we won’t have any more war. It was outlawed in 1928 by the Kellogg Briand pact. Duh!
And make no mistake, Obama's "fundamental change" of America makes us a socialist/communist country.
I want it all gone. People, buildings, books, and goats. Right down to the memory it ever was. Banished. Obliterated. Annihilated. For all time.
“While they are saying ‘peace and safety’ their destruction will come upon them suddenly... (I Thess. 5:3) “They have treated the wound of my people carelessly, saying, “peace, peace,” when there is no peace.” (Jeremiah6:14)
Which four wars do not involve Islam?
war, by any other name, is still war.
The number of wars, and deaths from wars (particularly per population) has been steadily declining for decades already.
An individual human being on Earth has less chance of dying violently today than at any point in human history.
about as rediculas as a few years ago a think tank thought
the big countries would no longer make war..... /s
Well, war between independent sovereign states has become almost non-existent - everything is a civil war, really.
Egypt is a huge net importer of wheat—Islam in this case cannot feed itself.
Where does the cash come from to pay for the wheat?
Ah, one of those wonderfully happy pipe dreams of many a leisure hour.
Personally, when I’m inclined toward fantasy, I prefer to be on a yacht with a dozen bathing beauties.
It’s more down-to-earth, and far more likely.
What time is it?
As socialism/islamism grows and spereads, the wars will just take on a different tone - instead of being agains opposing countries, they will be between the governments and the peoples. IOW, the world will become “third-world” en-toto.
I agree. I guess this “scientist” doesn’t count repression and internal struggles as “war”.
