I’m wearing my flambe retardant suit! Fire away..
I’m wearing my flambe retardant suit! Fire away..
God is within us. If we look outside of ourselves, we will not find Him.
We must look within.
I don't know where you expect Him to be, but I do know where I expect Him to not be.
I’m wearing my flambe retardant suit! Fire away..
The author sounds like a lot of people when they speculate about God. I don’t have the answers either. I do know one thing. I am grateful for what I have and the people in my life. When I catch myself feeling ungrateful, I remember that it could always be worse. Then I go about the business of making sure it only gets better.
At no point in human history has the average person been less likely to die violently than today - this is the most peaceful the world has ever been.
When God seems far away......... Who moved?..
If you prayed for discernment, and then read the Bible, you wouldn’t need to ask that question.
>> MY GOD is a kind of a score keeper..
Not the best sentence in the article.
Good subject regarding the expectations we each have or once had.
Possibly the more germane question would be, “Does G-d regret giving the human race freedom of choice...?”
G-d is all around us, all the time; He holds us all in the palms of His hands.
And He weeps for the idiocies we perpetrate on one another and on ourselves.
God might very well be asking,
“Where are my people? Where are those who I called when I entered into this world in their own flesh? Where are those who I redeemed when I carried their sins in that same flesh on the tree of the cross? Where are those on whom I sent my eternal presence in the person of the Holy Spirit? Where are those who I have nourished not only through my words but through my own Body and Blood?”
If God seems absent from the world it is because much of the world has been absent from God.
Where’s God? Same place He’s always been; as near as our next breath. But our enlightened and affluent culture has replaced Him with lesser gods more to their liking. IOW, we don’t need Him any more...or so our enlightened leadership would have us believe. I’ve read The Book; it doesn’t end well.
About live and let live - it is the way God created us- church or no church - with free will. We are free to be as nasty or good and as deep or shallow as we wannabe. But there is natural law and it has natural consequences of what we choose to do and be in life. God is in charge of the afterlife experience.
The culture war emcompasses what we teach and model for young people as to what is good and what is bad - based on the consequences. The Bible gives mankind a heads up. It is the drivers’ manual to avoid sink holes in life. The rules of the road are clear from warnings of the Bible but also in social, physical and material outcomes. That is true on a personal level and it all adds up a collective public social experience on how we are treated and treat others. There is a reason Western culture produced freedom and wealth.
You are so right that we see God act and His blessings and forgiveness in our personal lives. We also see natural law act out in our own lives. If we love others, we naturally want to give them a heads up when they are headed for a blow out. In addition to protecting innocent life, offering the knowledge of the self control in line with ethics and virtue is what a lot of the “culture war” is about. It has everything to do with people being able to be free and independent or enslaved in a Marxist police state. : )
“Have you ever wondered where in the world is GOD”
In us by the fullness of the Holy Spirit, to make a better world.
Then one day, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, will appear, and as happened 2000 years ago, many will continue in unbelief Pride, claim it a trick, claim those that disappeared have hid in the mountains, claim a cyber fake, and once again rile to Babel and Golden Calf led away by the One who once was adorned with God’s greatest light among the sons of heaven who time ago attempted to Lift himself up and claim himself to be God.
What if God's hand is actually more involved than we can possibly know?
What if we are being tested for our faithfulness especially when we have never seen Him face to face?
“WHERE’S GOD.. WHEN WE NEED HIM?”
Right where He needs to be.
Right where WE need Him to be.
