Even though this one is a spoof, the idea has a lot of merit. The country is on the verge of collapse anyhow, and it might be best to break it up before the Chinese lay claim to the ruins of the whole place.

It's really not a spoof. One of the parties is getting so diametrically opposed to what our founding fathers planned and dreamed and the constitution they gave a once great nation with freedom and democracy. The parties no longer work out solutions to the nations problems but instead create even more, as we sink in the cesspool of degradation and corruption as our leaders fight bitterly, while one party wants to solve our problems while the opposing party tries to create even more. The bitter fighting will eventually lead to a civil war if this continues. The red states will be the counties of freedom and prosperity while the blue states will be the countries of socialism, parasites, and dispair. They will look at the red states with anger, jealousy and envy, demanding the red states give them their fair share. So begins the great civil war.

And splitting up the country is going to prevent this? It seems more likely to hasten that very result.

There will be no secession, there will be partitioning. I think that the best way to partition is to put all the libs on the west coast in California. There is enough room in CA. Particularly if the illegals were sent home. Oregon and Washington can plot their own course.

Reds take the rest of the country. Never let the other have both coasts.
