Will do! :)
What does the weekend of December 21 thru 25 look like for the Canteen? It could be a Friday night Dedication entry, or I could run it on Christmas Eve for the December 25 thread. What do you and the ladies have planned?
I lost your bisquit recipe...could you send it to me again? Pretty please? Sugar on top?:)
Glad to hear you three had a great day together....pumpkin pie is good ANY time. Go sonboy!!
The turkey breast turned out just fine. And at work, on Wednesday, they gave us each a 22+ pound turkey. I was all set to give it away, but my Mom’s eyes lit up and she said she did want it. So it now is sitting out on the deck....it’s 10F right now.
Today is the first day that I’m not feeling too great. I worked today, but I’ve only had yogurt cuz my tummy is upset. It seems a little late for turkey and sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie to be the culprit. Maybe just part of getting better and figuring out what I can eat, or not. LOL! I want a piece of pie, but it will have to wait.
Good evening, Publius, and thanks for the video tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))
I remember our dearly departed HoosierHawk who would post it every Easter whenever I listen to it. God rest his soul.
I remember my military years four decades ago when there was no FR and no Internet. We had to strings wires between cans to communicate.
I’ll mark it down for 9 PM (Eastern) on December 24 for the Christmas Day thread.
Vision Quest was a forgettable movie from the Eighties, but with a song that took on a life of its own. Its one of the few Madonna songs I came to like.
Good evening, Drumbo, and thanks for spinning tunes for the troops. ((HUGS))
Did you and your church friends have a Thanksgiving repast?
Howdy Connie Lou! ((((hugs))))
Sure....here is the recipe.....
BISCUITS SUPREME
2 Cups Sifted Flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 Cup shortening
2/3 Cup Milk
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar,
and sugar; cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse
crumbs. Add milk all at once; stir only till dough follows
fork around bowl. Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead
gently 1/2 minute.
Pat or roll 1/2 inch thick; cut with biscuit cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in very hot oven (450 degrees)
10-12 minutes.
Makes about 12 biscuits.
Eat and enjoy!! :)
You are welcome. I had several invites this year, but so many leftovers from last weekend that I just stayed home in a food coma.
This is the first year I did not make a punkin pie as FIL is in the Hosp again & we don’t normally eat many sweets.
I made a pecan pie & it’s all gone already! LOL
Sonboy’s boss gave me a 14# turkey so I didn’t have to buy one & it’s just the size I like to cook. So cool you got one from work!
Turkey is NOT just for Thanksgiving. Good eats anytime.
Shoot....your deck is a freezer! LOL
Sorry your tummy is upset but I imagine your right...you just have to figure out what your system can handle for now.
Poor Daisy dog was sooo excited & forlorn all day she didn’t get any. She finally settled down & passed out under the dining room table. LOL
