Top Republican Senator ditches Norquist anti-tax pledge
A top Republican senator is casting aside an anti-tax pledge he signed, saying that solving the countrys looming fiscal crisis is more important than honoring the decades-old pact.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., broke ranks with other conservatives Wednesday when he made the remarks to a local television station. Chambliss is a member of the Gang of Six, a bipartisan group of senators tasked with finding a solution to the country's fiscal woes.

The election showed anyone with further doubts that there is no anti-tax voter at the ballot box, hence the next group of Pubbie candidates will be headed left.
You are exactly correct.
And, I have a bridge to sell anyone that believes we are not already “over the fiscal cliff”.
Our “normal” legislative processes cannot and will not FIX our problems. Half the folks want the other half to support them! It’s as simple as that!
The only question is: “How long will we?”
Well, can we at least start with the “NO TAX” pledge?
Saxby is the former Colquitt County (GA) Democrat Party chairman, FYI - a long time ago, but I think it lingers.
