Egypt's President Mohammed Mursi has issued a declaration banning challenges to his decrees, laws and decisions.
The declaration also says no court can dissolve the constituent assembly, which is drawing up a new constitution.
President Mursi also sacked the chief prosecutor and ordered the re-trial of people accused of attacking protesters when ex-President Mubarak held office.
Egyptian opposition leader Mohammed ElBaradei accused Mr Mursi of acting like a "new pharaoh".
Mr ElBaradei said the new declaration effectively placed the president above the law.
"Morsi today usurped all state powers and appointed himself Egypt's new pharaoh. A major blow to the revolution that could have dire consequences," the Nobel Peace Prize winner wrote on his Twitter account.

I suppose that Egypt will accuse Israel of some strange infraction of the peace treaty and use that as an excuse to attack Israel.

I no longer fret about the Obamabot Muslim tyrants and dictators. With Obama, the USA has lost the Middle East and now openly aids and abets the Muslim Brotherhood terrorists, full time. Why...not worry?
Knowing the world as well as I do and having been in the PRC (China) and worked very closely with many Indian folks of all sorts.....both the PRC & India will make short shrift of the “Muslim Menace” down the road apiece!!! Both nations have strong, century old, dislikes for Muslims. The new sheriff’s of the world will soon be, the PRC, India, Brazil, Russia and the nations of Latin, Central, South America. The USA is finished....Obama will see to that quite effectively!!!

Afew days ago. The US has elevated Mursi’s status in order to get a truce. It may be a Faustian bargain. The MB is firmly in charge and their influence will endanger US allies in the region.
