Walmart pays at a level reflective of the employee contributions

So who determines what a person's labor is worth??? The Chinese gov't???

and the competitive labor market.

You mean the illegals from Mexico???

Minimum wage has less value now than it did in 1960...Minimum wage is for high school and college kids...Not a man with a family who is forced to get the rest of his needed income from the gov't...

Maybe that man should offer value to an employer. Or, in your world, we just give him a job because... um, why do we give him a job again? And who gives it?

The man being forced to get the rest of his income from the government has many more problems than working at Walmart. Walmart is not meant to be a career. It is a temporary stopping point, either as beginning job or to help until someone can get on their feet with a better job. And, my son is making more working at Walmart than I did 10 years ago as a single mom supporting two kids. I could do it, so this theoretical man can do it.

That’s right. Minimum wage is for kids. A man ought to find a way to contribute to our economy at a higher level if he’s going to take a higher level of return out of it—such as to support a family.

A nation of unskilled lumps, sitting around, wanting to be bag boys at the supermarket is going to earn a standard of living about the level of that in Egypt or Peru.
