Actually, my son will be arriving at 8 pm tomorrow night, and working until 8 am Friday morning. And you know what, he is grateful to have the job, have the paycheck, and is looking forward to the entertainment and the overtime. If he didn’t like those working conditions, he could apply for other jobs, and find a different one.

Walmart gave him a chance when no one else would. And to that, we are pretty dang grateful.

Now, the fact that our nation has become more and more secular and less and less family oriented, that is not the fault of Walmart, that is the fault of democrats and liberals everywhere.

Not in love with my job, but it pays the bills. Thankful to be working but I can’t set my hours. They jump and you know the rest.

God bless.

Wally will, in the end, CRUSH the union simply out of self-preservation.

Wally has already demonstrated this resolve. They flat shut down a store in Canada because the union wouldn't leave it alone.

How Twinkie of them :)

Works that feel they are treated fairly, have upward mobility and all that, rarely unionize. I’m not sure walmart has that problem or not. Maybe somebody can give more insights there.
*************************
The overwhelming majority of WM workers have said no to union organizers who have attempted to get them into unions.

On The Five this week, Eric Bolling read off some statistics that showed that 25% of WM workers moved up into Supervisory/Management.

My store is a WM Super Store and I’ve gone there at least twice a week since it opened about a dozen years ago. I see many of the same workers today that were there when it first opened and we “know” one another from over the years. They always smile and ask how I’m doing; likewise, I ask about them and their kids, and congratulate them when I see a promotion to “Trainer” or higher from lesser positions. .......Those workers love working at WM and, contrary to the liberal media claims, do have good benefit packages. They don’t want anything to do with labor unions!

Union or not, retailers don’t need to treat their workers this way.

Economy sucks, they still have their jobs and will get paid overtime while helping to ensure the companies solvency while also protecting their jobs. What in the HELL is wrong or abusive about that?

Perhaps you think that the folks wanting to strike at LAX have a good and proper complaint too. IMO, W-Mart should pull a Reagan and slowly decrease the hours of those who work to hurt the employer until they can't get by and have to quit (after trying to sue W-Mart for trying to protect itself and its employees).

Walmart did not come up with the idea to start Black Friday on Thanksgiving, but it is hard for them to not follow their competitors.

True, they did not, but it is just getting rediculous when like lemmings, stores open up on Thanksgiving, Black Friday is bad enough, but that takes the cake. I look at it this way, if someone is going to buy a color TV, whether they buy it today or tomorrow makes no difference. Then again the last time we bought a TV was in 1983. B-)

You don't understand the situation.

I think it's the other way around.

The TAXES the Government at ALL levels collect from Walmart would drop substantially if they were unionized, not to mention the drop in retail sales alone because prices would have to be escalated in order to compensate for union wages.and demands.

I can't see the Government killing their "golden goose" to appease the unions.

Walmart currently pays a lot of taxes. Last year, for example, the company paid $7 billion of taxes--a bill that reduced its income before taxes from $22 billion to $15 billion.

If Walmart were to eliminate its $22 billion of income before taxes by giving every employee a raise, it would then pay no taxes.  Which wouldn't help our national budget deficit.

I could be wrong but I would guess you would see them close down GM before they unionize Walmart.

President Cloward-Piven doesn't CARE about tax revenue. "Taxing the rich" will result in LESS revenue.

It's about "overwhelming the system" so he can replace it with a socialist paradise and kill off the ones who don't like it.

Walmart mostly hires the unhireable and pays them what they are worth. It Walmart stores are unionized, these unhireable people will lose their jobs for incompetence.

The union fight at Walmart is not over the retail jobs, it is over the trucking and warehouse jobs. The unions could care less about the retail workers. They don’t really want them in their unions, except for the potential clout that the retail workers weld.

It was revealed this morning on Drudge that the protesters at LAX didn’t even know what they were protesting, that they were members of other unions and just showed up because they were told to. Many of the union members at LAX opposed the strike. My guess is that it is the same at Walmart.

You sound as if YOU'RE SURE of this.

Either you're advocating it or you're secretly hoping for it.

My point: You're being NEGATIVE as $hit.

I say it WON'T happen.

You're saying it WILL. Am I missing something you KNOW that I don't???
