After losing to President Obama in the election earlier this month, his former political opponent Mitt Romney has kept in the shadows of defeat. The former Republican nominee was spotted at La Jolla gas station Monday pumping gas, looking rather disheveled. TMZ reports that he and his wife were on a movie date, catching the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and grabbed some pizza afterwards. The flick of Romney at the tank was snapped up by Reddit user mkb95, who wrote "Mitt Romney at my local gas station. He looks tired and washed up." He even got to interact with the former presidential candidate. "I talked to him for a good three minutes while he was filling his tank," the photographer added. "I guess he's moving to one of his houses in the town I live in, La Jolla." Things aren't entirely bad for Romney. He gets to wallow in his losses as the owner of a $12 million mansion in California.

I get the impression Romney has always pumped his own gas. The media have given him this whole air of someone with a retinue of hangers-on running his errands.

I wouldn’t be surprised of Obama didn’t know how to operate a gas pump.
“Tired and washed up”? They whine because he’s too plastic, and then when he lets his guard down a little (as a private citizen, no less), they whine that he’s not perfect enough.
He still looks a heckuva lot better than most of the “beautiful people” that these morons worship in their unguarded moments. (I’m talking about you, Barbara Streisand)

Romney has a famous name that his father bestowed on him.

He pumps his own gas ? What is the alternative ... hire someone to pump your gas ? ... or maybe just run out of gas ? I don’t get it.

Romney was my primary choice for the GOP candidate, but he won the primary, and I gritted my teeth and supported him, and voted for him, as compared to Barack Obama, Romney was Reagan.
Now, having said that, Romney lost - whether it was a fair and honest election, I have my doubts...but, at this point he's not contesting the loss and it is, what it is.
But what's more amazing is the massive "gloat" that has suddenly consumed the left. It's childish, but most of the left is childish.
That brings me to the idea of Romney pumping his own gas...which is really a non-starter as there are very few stations left that will pump it for you.
But to say he is keeping himself in the "shadows of defeat" and it looking "tired and washed up", it total bull$hit.
In his defense, he just spent a grueling year on the campaign trail...sure he's "tired", we would all be tired. I think he would have taken a break of two or three weeks even if he had won.
But, "washed up"? Don't forget, he's run for this office before, and he came back to do it again.
Romney didn't "connect" with a lot of people, that's the popular meme about him right now...but, I believe him to be a decent and down-to-earth guy. The liberals try to make him out to be Thurston Powell (Gilligan's Island's millionaire), wallowing in limosines and caviar, but I don't see that about him.
He's laying low, spending some well-earned time with his family. He's not being a sore loser...but the liberals are being sore winners. They "won", and still can't stop tearing him down.
Leave the man alone. He ran his race, and he lost. So MSM and the rest of you liberal $hitheads, go somewhere and gloat on your own.

It’s Vibe Magazine, a black pop culture rag. What did you expect, another OJ, Tiger, Vick, Kobe or Michael Jackson apology story?

Somehow, it is immoral to use money you actually earned to run for political office. But it is just fine to use a famous name your father bestowed upon you (like Bob Casey, Jr.) or celebrity status which the media bestowed on you (like BO) for an entitlement to political office. Or better yet, get buckets of money via illegal web site donations from the Chicoms, Russkies, radical mooselimb regimes, sympathetic banana republic dictators and brainwashed socialist sycophants from all over the world.

I thought hovering drones from Haliburton personally delivered it to the GPS location of his Hummer...

This might be “news” if he was pumping his own gas in New Jersey

What does it tell you that Romney lives in Massachusetts AND California? No wonder his wife said the couple didn’t even know any Republicans!

Good for Mitt.
Despite what has happened, I respect this man a great deal.
He is as men should be.
I do not respect Obama, his voters, the media, the GOP or America.

And if Obama was seen doing this, the girly men at MSNBC would be crying racism.
To: SoFloFreeper
Yet he still supports the scum that helped defeat him by going to the movies!

“He looks tired and washed up”
At least he doesn’t look like a withered, bony, peanut-headed, flap-eared, purple lipped, limp-wristed, effeminate pimp.

Lol at Vibe story surrounded on their website by ads for Rhianna tell-alls and 'take your HIV med' reminders.
So, for those of you playing at home:
- Amish Vibe rapper with 12M home who beats his girlfriend - good
- GOP presidential candidate with 12M home & pumps his own gas - bad
