Grinnell's Jack Taylor didn't just amend the NCAA's record books when he scored 138 points -- a new collegiate high mark -- in his team's 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible Tuesday night. The Division III star wrote a new chapter.

By the end of the night, Taylor was 52-for-108 (27-for-71 from the 3-point line) and he'd established a new collegiate record. I'm surprised his arms didn't get tired.

Tell me about it. I used to wear out my arms tossing up a hundred free throws at a time, and the only running I was doing was retrieving the ball. He was running up and down the court in between these shots.
He did this in 36 minutes of play; that's an average of three shots per minute, not counting the other team or his teammates. The poor guys at the scorer's table must have been going nuts trying to keep up.

He attempted one shot every twenty seconds. His previous high point total was 48 while he was in high school.

The 104 points the losers scored would be a pretty hard score to beat. 179 is amazing and most of it from this one player. Was anybody playing defense at all?

No - I see no evidence of defense:
"Taylor wasn't the only star of the game. Faith Baptist Bible's David Larson scored 70 points (34-for-44)."

Looks awfully good in those highlights!

That’s really off the scale amazing, I’ve never heard of such a thing.
Great game, young man!

A kid on the other team was 34-of-44 from the field. That is remarkable as well.
