In the immortal words of Ms. Tina Turner: "BOOM-shakka-lakka-lakka!" ;)
I knew he would lose when he ignored Sarah Palin and the TEA Party, but I kept praying. He needed her to speak at his sorry convention. She was the VP nominee in ‘08 for crying out loud.
Yes, she was very luke warm for him as the nomineee, -— she was for Newt Gingrich in the primaries -— but nominees have to be big men and rally the base. Nobody can rally the base like Sarah Palin! Apparently, Romney was too scared Sarah would put off the independents...lol. What a colossal fool. Romney listened to the old, loser dogs in the GOP-E who despise Sarah Palin and we all noticed her absence!
I voted for Romney regardless, but a whole lot of others didn’t. I cringe every time I hear that McCain got more votes than Romney. Wrong. Sarah Palin got those votes!
Romney also failed to capitalize on Benghazi He was going for the Marxist throat when Candy Crowley shut him down, but during the following debate he absolutely took a pass on Benghazi, when all he had to do was mimic Charles Krauthammer’s talking points which Charles repeated every weekday night on Bret Baier’s panel.
Romney showed no leadership in the role as CIC. This was a no brainer. Nice, wimpy guys finish last.
He ignored the Tea Party, Sarah. He tried literally to destroy all of his opponents. People could not forget that. I still believe he was in plots with several candidates to stop Newt after Palin said publicly Vote, Newt! I think Romney's staff leaked those odd stories about Herman. Herman was on top for awhile. Mitt was on the insider team (which we want a team) though, that special club looks down on most of us as being too in your face with our views(as we need to tone it down, they think)
His convention was milk toast no red meat, I saw from the candidate, Miit. Palin should had been. My lib friends were saying the GOP were nuts for keeping her away. So, we should not trust the leftist media when they tell you that one of yours are too far out there. Those are the people they fear that will rally a protest. It is a shame what happened. The GOP has to get a stronger candidate next time.
1. He is a creepy, creepy man. Remember the first time you saw him? Remember how transparently phony he was? Well, you may have gotten numbed to it after all the campaigning, but he is still the same, icky guy. He's a phony that no normal person can stomach. And some conservatives who vowed to never vote for him kept their promise.
2. Not kidding. I'll bet the dog thing cost him 1%. Might not be fair, but it just fits into his lack of personality. The thing that really stuck with me was that he would only allow his kids bathroom breaks at preplanned stops. CREEPY!
3. There are definitely people in the base who wouldn't vote for a Mormon. That cost him at least 1%.
A good candidate could’ve won and possibly pulled along some Senate seats. He was a horrible candidate, but, like ‘96 and ‘08, the GOP will never admit it.
Floor fight: Grass-roots activists battle attempt to rig RNC delegate rules
correct analysis. but conservatives did themselves no favors by allowing the movement to be divided by romney and the GOPe. we will need to build political instrumentalities outside the control and influence of the GOP.
The author seems to have omitted one of the key reasons for Romney’s loss - cheating on the part of the Democrats by ballot stuffing and multiple voting by voters, as well as getting out the vote by illegal aliens who sought a Democrat victory, with all of the government handouts and goodies - not to mention welfare scamsters and union goons, who sought a Democrat victory for precisely the same reasons, i.e., graft and payoffs.
Keep in mind that a lot of younger guys will watch a network based on how 'hot' they perceive the anchor to be. Robin Meade on CNN gets a faster vote than Shepherd Smith, so they watch CNN. (Yeah, I know Mehgan Kelly is hot, but too many younger males see her as threatening because she's smart.)

Romney lost because half of America (and others in this country) would prefer a socialist government to free enterprise. And conservatives should wake up to the fact that half of the Republicans feel the same way or are willing to move the country in that direction.
The people who won this for obama don’t surf the internet and don’t watch mainstream TV. Romney simply had no ground troops in black and hispanic areas nor does the GOP. None of these folks are in their database.
Spot on¡¡¡ though point #1 is the salient issue.
Romney is a Tard and did everything to make the election about him, not the issues.
Sure, he’ll have his hackneyed explanations but, bottom in is he was not a standard bearer of conservative principles.
Moreover, he was for all intents and purposes barely Barrack light and there was no reason for his candidacy.
The diference between him and Barrack being so little the electorate, numerically, chose the same guy.
The outcome god be the same either way.
One who drives recklessly faster and more dangerously to the other who would only take a little easier to the same destination.
He may be right about the new role of the social media, replacing both the old MSM and the “new” alternative media (Fox News plus the various websites and blogs). Both of these may be losing out to the new social media among the young.
But, if that indeed is true, then it only shows that we have moved fully into the bread and circuses demagogic world. I question whether the conservative message can win if enough of the populace is dumbed down enough.
Of course, perhaps the social media are only tools and not shapers of (non)knowledge. One may hope. They are too new to know for sure.
But I fear that they actually are changing the way people (don’t) think, and not for the better.
Furthermore, most of the analysis I’ve seen so far emphasized how Obama used the social media to grease his GOTV machine.
I think Viguerie needs to consider whether the real source of Rommney’s loss wasn’t the early voting system combined with a data-mining and sophisticatedly connected use of the social media, a combination of old-fashioned political hustle that could be more effective because of early voting with the new means of interconnecting the various pieces of the hustling operation.
It’s probably a combination of all of these. Alienating the Tea Party hurt him. Failing to deliver a strong conservative message as an alternative hurt him. Yes. But so too did a sophisticated GOTV operation spread out over more than a month—that’s just as new a factor as the social media are.
Put them all together and you’ve got bread and circuses, mobocracy, hell on earth.
Just how is the conservative message, even if GOPe learn to use the new social media, going to get through when the whole political landscape has become bread and circuses and race-baiting and when more than half the people are dumber than a bag of rocks.
I’ve been teaching college undergrads for 30 years. There’s been an appalling decline in ability to think for themselves combined with an appallingly exaggerated sense of their own preciousness.
They are next to unteachable now.
Romney lost because voters saw no difference between Obama and Romney. Might as well keep the liberal you know as they say.
Expecting voters to know whats going on and their reliance on MSM is just part of why we lost. While there are examples of fraud which may close up the gap, the gap is too big to blame the loss on fraud .
..Expecting GOP Es to address media bias or Romney to call Obama a congenital liar or even point out that the fact and figures released by the white house were allways questionable is another Let alone call him a “socialist”.. Until we have candidates willing to do this and challange and call them for what they are ..WE WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE...
Even so (disregarding the philosphical differences) the fault lies really in the messaging the Republican campaign came up with. Choking on political correctness parameters or triping over past positions on global warming and Romneycare both of which were bread and butter issues. .Then busy responding to pseudo positions devised by the demo-com party and echoed by their hand maiden camp followers in the media allowing them to set the agenda ..
Romney ran a Johnny One Note Campaign. Used a poison dart blow gun when he should have used a cannon loaded with grape shot because he had pleanty of stuff he could fill that cannon barrel with..
THE DEMOGRAPHIC STRAW DOGS
This campaign failed to hammer away on what will happen when Obama gets retained; The Obama AHCA past due 2013/14 Tax Increases. The impact of Obamas gagging energy resources (a socialist construct never branded as such) with policies requiring reliance on “free” intermittent resources wind and solar and that resulting in massive corruption .,Restricted use of drilling, discontuned reliance on coal ,bans and on fracking, and resulting prices doubling on everything.. This was a bread and butter issue which reached into every demographics pocketbook including accepting the demo-com definition of hyphenated African-Hispanic -Americans, college students and single women.
.The impact of Supreme Court Appointments.. 18,000 new IRS agents and on and on. . Some were very briefly touched most werent and Benghazi/ foreign policy was left to languish. Then there is Obamas personal extravagance and behavior refusing to visit Nashville after its disaster showing up at New Orleans after Mitt visited it. Even after the Christi thing if that was brought up it would have blunted the impact.
Instead we got a sales pitch on executive ability but not the reason why one should toss the old model and buy his. That print and tv pitch , 20 million new jobs, was given a discrarded dose of skepticism .
In addition Rove who I understand was handling the Charter PAC senate campaign played games. His material never warned voters that IF OBAMA GETS RE-ELECTED AND SENATE CONTROL REMAINED . .. OBAMACARE AND ALL THE TAX INCREASES THAT GO WITH IT WILL NEVER GET REPEALED Let alone tie into or cover the formentioned grape shot which would have perhaps changed that body. I don’t recall any of that material directed toward that fact.
Finally they didnt believe the polls which turned out were dead on. Even going as far as setting up focus groups which could have looked into whats going on . Even to the point of going out to local eateries and bars and eavesdrop into conversations and pick up on topics being discussed.(chat rooms twitter too contrived) They would have learned their turnout projections were off and the sence of urgency to get out the vote was diminished by their glowing projections and disbelief never mind ORCA which should have been tested. COMPLACENCY WAS ENCOURAGED BY THE MEDIA AND NOT COUNTER ACTED UPON
WHEN YOUR GETTING RESPONSES LIKE “THERE AIN’T NO DIFFERENCE” and projections of heavy turnout... you got problems...Voters won’t show up.
Our local small population (-8000) rural blue county GOP had at the outset good and growing attendence at their meetings 50 plus. At the meeting the Thursday before the election only about a dozen people showed up and I knew we were in trouble .
Nuts...This loss is inexcuseable, while I trully don’t believe Mitt Romney would ever continence losing, I’m begining to believe that most GOPE’s really didn’t want to see AHCA, (affordable health care act) otherwise known as ZerO care go ..
Bump for later reading
Romney had already backstabbed conservatives since
throwing the 2008 election to Obama for their Soros.
Romney was in it for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
He and Rove cashed their checks on election eve
and were done with it.
Is anyone else getting tired of reading another story on why Romney lost?
It’s time to focus on the solution, not the problem.
Pure and simple...Romney lost because the majority of voters were ignorant of the issues at hand. Couple that with the RATS playing Santa Claus.........and you have the continuation of the Marxist/socialist state of the USA
