I will take no further action to contest this election.

by Allen West on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 3:18am ·

For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly. We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process. While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.

While there are certainly still inaccuracies in the results, and the actions of the St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters, after much analysis and this past weekend's recount in St. Lucie County, our legal team does not believe there are enough over-counted, undercounted or fraudulent votes to change the outcome of the election.

While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change. Given the extremely high evidentiary hurdles involved in a successful challenge, I will not ask my generous supporters to help fund a drawn-out, expensive legal effort with little chance of success. Therefore, we will not contest the certification or challenge the seating of Congressman-elect Murphy.

Serving the people in the House of Representatives has been among the highest honors of my life, but this seat does not belong to me, or for that matter, to any individual. It belongs to the people.

I want to congratulate my opponent, Patrick Murphy, as the new Congressman from the 18th Congressional District. I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.

I must thank my wife Angela, and my daughters Aubrey and Austen for their support, patience, understanding and most of all, love. These are three of the toughest women I know. They have sent me off to defend our nation overseas at war, and to Capitol Hill to serve our nation in the House of Representatives. They have all handled the challenges of these last few months, and the last many years, with amazing grace. I know they will be by my side for whatever is our next chapter.

I want to thank my congressional and campaign staff for their service, and most importantly, I want to thank all of our tremendous supporters who provided their time and money to power our campaign. I am humbled by the dedication and perseverance of our supporters, and their commitment to a free and prosperous America. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our campaign, but most importantly, what they have done, and will continue to do for our country. None of us should let the outcome discourage us. We should only redouble our resolve.

Above all, I want to thank God for his blessings, and for blessing me with the opportunity to serve.

Only God knows what is in store for each of us. I have dedicated my life to serving this nation, and the results of this election will not change my purpose. Just as I did in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as I did on Capitol Hill, I will continue to fight for our Republic.

Our nation will not overcome our challenges overnight, and the road ahead for each one of us will not be easy. But this nation would never have become that shining beacon of light if our founders had chosen the easy path 236 years ago. We all must proudly continue their legacy.

For the protection and preservation of our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, I shall remain steadfast and loyal. God bless you and God bless these United States of America

Your lies only garnish your delight at the destruction of the America that you so despise.

Again, you've got nothing but bluster. You advanced a theory that the House results somehow proved vote fraud on the presidential level. I showed you clearly that the Democrats actually got more votes for their House candidates than we did, and that we only kept our majority because of gerrymandering - and yet you simply whine and make ridiculous accusations. Worse, it's obvious you didn't understand that people ticket split regularly anyway. Nor did you seemingly know that the Democrats held the House for 50 years, all while Republican Presidents were being elected. Your theory is bunk. You have no evidence for it, and you make a fool of yourself babbling about it.

Look, I am sure your heart is probably in the right place, but you just don't have command of the facts and you should avoid arguing with people that actually do. Also, you'd help yourself tremendously if you'd stop calling names and trying to get people banned every time you lose a debate. It's just very childish and I recall you doing the same thing on the birther threads.

You showed nothing but dishonesty that has always characterized your offerings here.

Go away, you smell bad.

True stories, but what should this last point you made so well tell us all?

Clearly we need some kind of separation, we should be far enough along in history at this point to mutual agree to split without massive bloodshed.

This “shrinking” or localization of nations has been happening out in the open all over the world, we are just a bit behind.

There are no legitimate objections to separation. If peoples do not want to voluntarily enter into mutual agreements with one another on large scale, and there is enough geographic room (Which we have plenty of) then there should be a change made.

And secession doesn’t do it alone. Why would any potential split have to be by state? That makes no sense, there could be plenty of red and blue counties (Except perhaps the blue islands like Dallas) that could join other states, etc.

It would have to be a long mediation, and agreement, but it is not impossible.

There just has to be enough leverage on both ends where no one thinks they have a path via violence to outright deny the other. Compared to all the other places in the world this is happening, we are in a better position- we are armed civilians.

Finally, all it would really take to get things going is massive sustained protesting (just like the libs do). There are PLENTY of “Reds” where it would be overwhelming and would force a legitimate response from DC.

LOL, how old are you? 9? You sound like a child. No wonder your posts are so terrible. You'd be doing yourself a huge favor if you let the adults talk and just listened and learned. Do that for the next 6 months or so and then come back and see if you can post stuff that at least makes some sense.

Blame the Republican Party.

He was toast as soon as his district lines were re-drawn by the FL GOP.

They didn’t want Col. West in office and stuck a knife in his back.

The county Dems blatantly sabotaged this every step of the way.

The Dems do what they do. The real culprits are the Republican Party that re-districted him.

Hard to win in a Poker Game if your opponent owns the cards.West was hung out to dry by the Republican Party during Florida's redistricting. Vote fraud blah blah blah. Just ignore the reason why it was even a close election.

If you want to blame someone, blame Robert Crowder.

Redistricting isn’t necessarily the culprit.

Just ignore the reason why it was even a close election.

I know exactly why it was a hard race for West. In fact the GOPe did not want West back and worked very hard to ensure that, and still they had to cheat.

Trying to claim that voter fraud caused us to lose the election is nonsense

Due to widespread voter fraud that favored the Democrats in the "swing states," which has been incontrovertibly demonstrated, neither you nor I can claim that the election was legitimately won, or lost, by anyone.

And that, my FRiend, is the point.

BTW, speaking of "points," yours that:
The country is changing demographically, socially and on how it views government - and not for the better
is well taken.

However, in regard to:
Blaming conspiracy theories for our loss gets us nowhere.
Widespread vote fraud on the part of the Democrat Party is no "Conspiracy Theory." If indeed we are "to get anywhere," as you put it, the fact of systematic vote fraud must be dealt with.

So he was back-stabbed by yet another Republican.

I’m seeing a pattern here...
