In September, the Chicago Teachers Union went on strike, shutting down the Windy Citys schools for 10 days. Many of those same teachers were in attendance on Nov. 10 at the Midwest Marxism Conference held at Northwestern University in Chicago.
The topics of the conference were:
Marxism, Crisis & Resistance
The Meaning of Marxism
The Flint Sit-down Strikes & The Founding of the UAW
From Apartheid Schools to the New Jim Crow: Racism, USA
The Democrats: A Critical History
Russia: A Case Study in Workers Power & Revolution
Socialists & Trade Unions
Class, Race & the Civil Rights movement
Education & Capitalism
Lenins Theory of the Revolutionary Party
Marxism & Womens Liberation
Whose City? Labor, the 1%, and the Democratic Party Machine in Chicago
Imperialism: Why Capitalism Creates War
Detroit, I Do Mind Dying
Among some of the speakers at the conference was Jesse Sharkey, vice president of the Chicago Teachers Union. Another speaker who kicked off the conference was Becca Barnes, a Chicago teacher, who refers to American capitalists as capitalistic vampires. Barnes told the crowd:
The struggle here in the United States has entered a new phase. Nowhere have we pointed the way forward more clearly than here in Chicago with the teachers union strike.
One person who attended the conference noted that with the abundance of teachers and their response to the messages and participation in the workshops, it gave a clear message that the Chicago Teachers Union is one with the local Marxists. A number of the workshops were led by members of the local Chicago Teachers Union.
Each of the sessions that this person attended started with congratulating Barack Obama for winning his re-election. After listening to language filled with hate and anger aimed at America it became obvious to this person that the agenda of the Chicago socialists and teachers was to change society to be more like that of the former Soviet Union. He noticed that the philosophy of mass murderers such as Lenin were upheld and embraced by those in attendance. Teachers strategize on what and how to teach the school kids in Chicago to train them up with the Marxist philosophy.
Those years I served in SAC...pulling nuclear alert for 1/3 of my life, etc., etc....to keep Communism at bay....I now see were a complete and total waste of my life and my time.
Thanks, you Marxist assholes. Thanks a lot.
An article written about a year and a half ago and very instructive:
Democrats Unveil the Weapon of the Future ".............What all this amounts to is the baptism of fire of what I have taken to calling the "liberal superstructure." This superstructure is the vast constellation of advocacy groups, think tanks, single-issue outfits, unions, and various other flotsam constructed by the left over the past half-century or so. There are literally thousands of these groups, ranging from the ACLU and the Sierra Club with their hundreds of thousands of members to the local "Friends of the People's Venezuela" outfit which amounts to a retired feminism professor and her six cats. These organizations are ubiquitous, universal, and networked to a fare-thee- well. They are also liberalism's last great hope of controlling politics in the United States. ..........."
I don’t know what it is about free people, that would cause them to think that Marxism is such a wonderful ideology and that it has never been given a good enough chance to work.
Marxist, Socialist, Communist, governments always wind up with massive death and destruction.
Ultimately, the only way you can get folks to live under these systems, is by force. And the more people object, the more force is necessary.
We can already see that force at work in the United States.
People better wake up, because if they wait too long, they’ll be waking up in a system that doesn’t tolerate their dissension. And then, it’s too late.
Marxism has been taught in US schools and universities for decades now. Where has Chicago been hiding?
Nice...
Thank you for your Service. (((Salute)))
Lord have mercy. There’s NO dealing with that idiot mind set. NONE at all.
The shiny side of this is that if the CTU is as good at teaching Marxism as they are English and Math not one kid in ten will learn anything.
I’ve read that they pay the application fee of $525!!!!
Fine. If they want to be marxists, so be it. Starting tomorrow the teachers get $1.00 per hour more than the janitors. Same benefits. They don’t apply for a job. They are assigned a job, not always in a location that they like. They can not travel to Aruba during Spring break unless the government allows them. They all have to drive a Prius. Sorry, no GPS and no stereo. They can’t live in a house. They will live in an apartment in the same building as people who don’t pay anything.
Everybody gotta be the same under marxism. (except the party elite)
Yeah, I hear ya. Dumb and dumber is what they need for their system to be accepted. They’re well on their way too.
Another reason to HOMESCHOOL your kids. You are the best teacher for your kids — not MARXIST TEACHERS!!!
It just amazes me that, despite the record of Marxism’s tragic and criminal failings in the last century, clowns in America can still espouse it.
Re: onyx's post 10: original material from The People's Cube:
Oh, sorry: ping to post 34.
Hi Albion Wilde! I got it from Face Book. Never heard of the site you linked.
That is until the new Obama appointed supreme court has the 5/4 Commie vote and outlaws homeschooling.
Amen...get your kids away from the public schools ASAP...
First......thank you.
I think the difference now is that they feel so emboldened with the current prick in the White House. They actually believe that THEY reflect the thinking of the majority of the U.S. I mean, let that sink in.....they truly believe it. That in itself is unbelievably sad.
If all you watch is the MSM and if you listen to “academia” in this country, it’s easy to see exactly why they feel that way. The last two Presidential elections only acted as kerosene on their pathetic Commie fire.
The People’s Cube is worth a visit, ‘comrade’... :-)
