"Armed with a search warrant, the FBI and the Bergen County Bomb Squad then visited Rivera's home where they confiscated the bomb-making chemical and also found "several other precursor chemicals commonly used in the making of explosive devices," Molinelli said. "
It's a big deal.
“Large amounts of chemicals commonly used to make bombs”
“It’s a big deal.”
No it’s not.
HUNDREDS OF HOUSEHOLD AND POOL CHEMICAL CAN MAKE THINGS THAT GO BANG...
It's a big deal.
Then you wouldn't mind surrendering any of the precursor chemicals/items in your house such as:
ground coffee, matches, speaker wires, cell phones, alarm clocks, kitchen timers, dried beans, dried rice, eggs, Vaseline, motor oil, urine (making urea nitrate), gasoline, nail polish remover/paint thinner (acetone), car batteries, bleach, Miracle Grow, bar soap, aspirin tablets, rust (great for incendiaries), aluminum foil/cans, string, cigarettes, clothespins, wine bottles, alcohol, peroxide, dried tea leaves, sugar, cocoa, Epsom salts, table salt, crayons, vinegar etc.....
If you are a prepper or extreme couponer....you could be made to look like a pretty dangerous nutcase. Especially if you happen to have evil "assault" rifles and a few cases of ammunition on hand.
Someone told the cops he had explosive material. Okay, so they got the explosive material. They also talked about his weapons but weapons and a stun gun aren’t illegal so why even mention them.
However, this is New Jersey. Can a person have guns and a stun gun in New Jersey? I would leave that state for sure if I couldn’t have guns.
Probably the guy was just a reloader.......
