The Republican Party has been doing a lot of hand-wringing and finger-pointing since the presidential election. Half the conservative columnists and bloggers say the GOP lost because it overemphasized social issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The other half says the party didn't emphasize them enough. And everyone denounces Project ORCA, the campaign's attempt to turn out voters via technology.
But I've got a suggestion for cutting short the GOP angst: Sarah Palin for president in 2016.
You think I'm joking? Think again.

Sarah Palin is the new Ronald Reagan: charming and affable and unwilling to back down if she's right. I can't see what's wrong with that.
Charlotte Allen writes frequently about feminism, politics and religion.
Shes the reason GOP turnout 2008 > 2012.
Voting Died.... Nov..6th.... wake up...
The ongoing ignorance by too many within the entire GOP of all voter fraud is very bizarre.
I really think that the GOP lost this election when they stabbed her in the back during and after her VP campaign. If they had stood by her, she would’ve been re-elected Governor of Alaska, and from there, with Party support, could’ve mounted a credible Presidential campaign. No way in hell she would’ve gotten fewer votes than McCain, and she probably would’ve gotten quite a few more, particularly in those critical swing state places like southern Pennsylvania and Ohio.
But Biden won't be the nominee.
Face facts folks. If they'll murder infants, they'll do anything!
With ‘Great Oz’?
She is and was the most talented politician of her generation. What the crappy GOP did to her is unforgivable. If Reagan had run in 2008, he would have been destroyed (or nearly destroyed) by the likes of Steve Schmidt and Karl Rove and the Lamestream Media.
Real leaders don't back out, or rely on excuses, or shift blame.
But I guess the same applies to Mitt, who didn't bother running for reelection as governor because he didn't think he could win.
TROLL - BACK OFF, attention seeker!
Not actually a response to what I said.
But those caps certainly will attract a lot of attention to you.
GOP turnout will end up higher than 2008 once all the votes are counted.
“Real leaders don’t back out, or rely on excuses, or shift blame. “
Yeah, I guess they stubbornly ignore the financial hardhsip they are inflicting on the people aroound them for their own selfish glory.
Palin left because of the biggest political smear in American history. And it was fueled by the GOP.
Sarah - please run - let the voters decide!
She needs a position of substance somewhere.

That said whomever becomes the nominee in 2016 needs to be someone that can bring enough voters together to defeat the democratic candidate. We surely don't need a 16 year run of democratic control plus however many years into the future the Supreme Court impact of their nominees will be.
Ronald Reagan never quit his office.
