LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Employees at Los Angeles International Airport were considering plans on Friday to walk off the job ahead on what is traditionally the busiest traveling day of the year.
A coalition of Southland labor and community leaders are calling for the protest of alleged violations by LAX contractor Aviation Safeguards (AVSG) after breaking their contract with the airport earlier this year.
Andrew Gross-Gaitan, the director of the Southern California Airports Division of SEIU, told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO that AVSG over 400 LAX workers without affordable family health care when it failed to comply with the citys Living Wage Ordinance.

When peoples lives are on the line, their family members are on the line, theyre not going to be able to enjoy their Thanksgiving, said Gross-Gaitan. This is really a critical moment for thousands of workers.
As many as 1,000 airport workers and union supporters are expected to march on Century Boulevard just as an estimated 1.8 million passengers are expected at travel through LAX over the holiday weekend.
SEIU workers in March staged a protest outside the Tom Bradley International Terminal, but despite some congestion, passengers were not prevented from entering the building.
This time, however, Gross-Gaitan would not dismiss the potential for severe disruptions to airport operations during the protest.
Its entirely possible there will be significant travel delays, he said.
I use Burbank..
No Twinkies for them.
Feeling bolder and bolder under Obama’s admin...
If they choose to self destruct, I’m not going to complain.
Obamanation Communism File.
“I use Burbank..”
But NOT for American flights...terrible.
There are a lot of thieves working at LAX.

I hope a huge fault-line opens up on Century Boulevard and devours them.
Unfortunately, as with Hostess, far more non union workers will lose their jobs too.
I hope those non-union folks learn a good lesson from this mess. I hope they see that unions and reelecting a loser has dire consequences. I also hope they know better than to vote for failure next time.
For any of the 14,000 non-union unemployed, if you voted for Obama then you got what you deserve.
So now we really know what the Obama meeting with Labor bosses was all about. WALK OUT NOW! Workers of the world unite! Interesting times ahead.....
Obama probably guaranteed something much like they did with Lockheed Martin.
Locally, Vectren union workers reject the latest contract. Developing....
Remind me again, how long after Hitler took over before the Unions were banned?
Five months, was it?
You beat me by 12 minutes...
Trumpka was at the White Hut just the other day briefing Bambi on this little "Job Action" Elections HAVE consequences.
Welcome to four more years of 0bama.. So THIS is what his first major meeting following the election was all about; Increasing Union power through intimidation by massive strikes. 0bama wastes no time on his ‘Kill mission; America’. Oh wait.. All of these strikes are just coincidence, silly me! So was the HIT on the Secret Service (sex scandal) and our top military brass (sex scandal).. ALL coincidences!
I dont fly if it can be avoided.
Being subjected to a warrantless search by government lackeys sticks in my craw.
I don’t give a smelly Obama about anything happening in the New Third World.
Anyway, we should all be precautionary and stay away until the “big one” after which we can come in, clear out the remaining libs (dump them into the ocean) and enjoy the liberated statelet that will remain.
Probably obama voters anyhow. The unions are emboldened by his re-election. People should know...elections have consequences.
