Outgoing Maine Republican Party Chairman Charlie Webster is apologizing for a comment he made about black people and the election.
Last week Webster told a Portland TV station that in rural Maine towns, "dozens of black people" unknown to local officials showed up to vote on election day.
Webster tells the "Bangor Daily News" he regrets the comment and that he is not a racist.
The midget? He IS black!
You are correct, the guy should be lauded.
Of course in our racially charged upsidedown cake bizzaro world, truth is a non starter. One has to first filter what they want to say though the sieve of how it will be taken by the race, gender and islamic pimps.
Here is one stat I would throw back to anyone who says he is wrong: 19600 votes for Ozero verses none for Romney in 100% black precients in Philadelphia. Is that racially biased?? Well, as the say about the bear and what he does in the woods, that would be an affirmative.
I guess accusing any minority of wrongdoing, even if there is clear wrongdoing, is “racist”.
He just made that story up to explain to his donors why they got nothing for their money. His claim was baseless, just a simple reading of it showed that.
Losers like this give the party a bad name.
Why do republicans always end up apologizing? Speak your mind and let the chips fall. Confirms my belief that republicans are nothing but wimps. Sick of all of them (except West and Palin)!
He made it up? I guess we can call him Susan Smith. What a jack-azz!
When are you Republicans going to get it? Anything you say, or don’t say can and will be called racist. Anything you say or do, or don’t say or don’t do will be called a hate crime.
He made an accusation that if true would be easy to prove but he offered nothing. He was not serious
As R-party chairmen his contributors want to know what good giving him campaign money did, so he comes up with this as an excuse.
He shamed the party doing this. A Great way to turn off minorities for future elections.
The blacks who were reported to have voted may have been Somalis who live up in Maine now. Ask tsowellfan:

THIS is why we 'lose'. Someone speaks the truth then apologizes because the truth isn't 'politically correct'!
I'm sorry, but having your own opinion DOESN'T mean making sure everyone likes it. This "I-have-a-right-not-to-be-offended" crowd is KILLING us.
If you are going to mention bears you must say polar bears, they are white so you can call them redneck bears, cracker bears, MFin’ bears or whatever but you must not say simply bears because most bears are nonwhite. Yeah, I know there are no woods where the polar bears hunt but accuracy is not important, only that you don’t injure the feelings of minority bears. Yeah, I know that white bears are the real minority in the bear world but once again accuracy is not important.
Thanks for nothing, webster. You just gave libs another boatload of ammunition. You related to christie?
Judas Priest, either they were or they were not black. And it is easy to know if your town does or does not have black residents.
My God, soon the cops wont be able to ask is the perp black white Asian
How is calling them black an insult? THEY are the people who decided to be called Black because it contrasts more effectively with White for racial purposes.
He had no evidence. In his original comments, he admitted he had no evidence, he was just going on anecdotes, and was saying it should be investigated.
But seriously, he was talking about people who were not known in the community showing up to vote. It didn’t matter that they were black, or white, or hispanic. If he had said “I’ve heard multiple reports that people unknown in a community showed up to vote, and we should look into that”, he wouldn’t be apologizing now.
A white guy saying “hey, black people showed up, and we don’t have any black people living in our neighborhoods” is going to be called to task. It may not be fair, but I expect the people picked to lead the Republican Party to be savvy enough to know what NOT to say.
“dozens of weirdly pigmented aborigines appeared from nowhere and voted. I believe they said they were from Kenya.” So if blacks vote for a black just because he’s black (and Barry is only about 6% black - LOL!) that’s not racist. But if I see a bus load of Crips voting in Maine and mention it, I’m racist. Ok, got it!
“And claims he is not racist.”
What a dumb f**** thing to print.
I wish this country would just burn already..
Enough is enough
