Benghazi hearing turns ugly: Republicans accuse Obama of lying, Dems fire back

A House Foreign Affairs hearing on "Benghazi and Beyond" quickly turned into a shouting and accusations forum.

Naturally, Democrats responded. It began rather timidly and escalated.
"Barack Obama was no more responsible for what happened in Benghazi than George Bush was for Sept. 11th or Ronald Reagan was for the blowing up of U.S. Marines in Beirut," Rep. Eliot Engle (D-NY) said.
Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) unloaded, first sarcastically: "Let's just hang the guilty parties."
"The stench of hypocrisy that hangs over this city today emanates from this room," Ackerman said. "I've listened to my colleagues talk about the President of the United States and others in the administration using [the] terms 'deliberate', 'lies', 'unmitigated gall', 'malfeasance,' which is malicious and knowing evil-doing, 'disgust', 'coverups'."

Did George Bush ignore repeated requests from the airlines for increased security because of a pattern of highjacking planes into buildings incidents?

The entire democrat party is willing to lie to defend their leader. The whole media establishment will hide facts, distort information, and lie to protect their party leader.
The public’s collective mind can not understand Benghazi. The concepts are too complicated. Besides, the public can not hold more than one idea in its collective brain at the same time.
Declare it over. The media will never mention it again, and the public will go back to what it can understand: Brad Pitt, Kim Kardashian and 2 1/2 men.

There is one way for Petraeus to restore his honor and name and go down in the annals of American history as a hero. Just forget about his affair as this is something else he will have to live with and nothing unusual for some one in the military, unless they are caught.
Tell the truth about what was going on and who is to blame. Should he be forthcoming, many people will place him back on the pedestal he used to stand on as a great general, on top of it having the balls to stand up for the truth and deserves his four stars. I know I am dreaming, but with a bunch of clowns in control what else is there besides watching the demise of a once Great Nation.
Oh yes, now I remember Bush spending several days floating the idea that 9/11 was a spontaneous reaction to the inflight movie...

The media calls things “ugly” when the truth is told about Democrat failures.
WHY was Amb. Stevens in Benghazi on 9-11 with NO SECURITY....WHO SENT HIM THERE....ans WHY was he meeting with the Turkish guy????
I think it boils down to five requests to confirm the administrations assertion that they “did everything they could” to help the Americans involved.
1. Provide the directives for those at the Consulate — who sent them and why.
2. Show what communications were sent requesting what actions by those that sent them as demonstrated by item 1.
3. Provide the Cross Border Authorization as signed by the President.
4. Have each recieving agency that could take action on #3 show their action orders or explain why they ignored the President.
5, Ask for the written corrective actions issued by the President to thoose parties who failed to act on his Cross Border Authorizations.
Short and Sweet — they can’t provide any of it — they left them there to die.
Repubs have lost me and my respect but Dems have become like Hamas is to Israel, they are mortal enemies of America... I spit on all Democrats, pa-tooy!

Your comments made me tear up because I know how right you are. We have been destroyed as a nation. I am a female Boomer, and I know that I will never again see a fair national election in my lifetime. My grandchildren will never know what a great country we failed to preserve for them.
